Cork always reminds me of home, it has a Cornish landscape to it. In fact, out on the Beara peninsula there are many Cornish mines where we settled to dig for copper. I'm just in the middle of reading a biography of Michael Collins, fine man. Another beautifully made film Derek. Happy and safe travels to you.

Cheers. There’s actually a song about the Cornish people (sang by Cornish people) that I’ve been waiting to sing in a video 🙈
@Rameman332 жыл бұрын
Um, wonder if it's 'Cousin Jack' about our emigration, or 'Cornwall my home' there's a few ! Which ever one Derek, I look forward to hearing it in one of your films sometime. Enjoying your spirit and travels as always. Andy. ✌

Ah, it must be strange and wonderfully overwhelming being welcomed and really looked after on your walk around Ireland. It would give you a very warm feeling to know there are so many lovely people out there.

hi Christina! Yes I get stopped a few times everyday by people that watch the videos and it’s the most peculiar experience to me no matter how many times it happens 😂 The kindness sent my way on this trip has been amazing !

Loved this Derek, and its lovely that people are being so kind to you. Myself and the family had many visits to West Cork and yes Clonakilty is gorgeous. Wouldn't you love to know what the cows are thinking😊

I think the sad thing about these old buildings which are historically significant and there are many in Ireland is that no one is bringing them back to their former glory they are just left to rot and decay, it is a crime! Surely somebody should have had the foresight to create a charity to tend to these buildings, it is vandalism at a state level!

Great video!👍Clonakilty's lovely. I remember cycling from Clonakilty up to Michael Collin's birthplace at Woodfield in 97. Even stopped off at the pub at Sam's Cross on the way back. Just makes me want to go again!

That’s exactly what I’m trying to do Pete - make you homesick 😂 Honestly though, the stories from the land here are very strong and i suppose that’s why the call is so strong to the Irish abroad ☘️

Lovely history.Great stuff..That red bike at the mill reminds me of when Me & a friend were staying in Amsterdam and after a few drinks one night the 2 of us decided to take a loan of a bike we seen beside a pub to get home.Next morning we discovered it was a red bike,the only red bike in Amsterdam. Needless to say we stuck out the next day going down the road,me on the bar..lol

Why is there so many abandoned houses in Ireland following this vlog the last month they are everywhere?? Are they abandoned or just owned but left to go to ruin ??
@DerekCullenOutdoors2 жыл бұрын
Abandoned and yes I’ve been saying this for years on my walks. I don’t think people realise just how many abandoned houses there are and I’m not sure of the reason …
