I know that you are always trying to work quickly but you will get a better result with your stamping if you hold the stamp down on your paper for a second or two so the paper absorbs the ink. Also using a bit of cushion under your paper helps. I’m sure you have heard this before. Love this series so much. Blessings from Canada 🇨🇦

Also acrylic stamps are brats- some need a layer of ... something I forget what... taken off by using an eraser on the stamp surface just lightly. And that conditioning if the stamp helps the ink to stick ❤

I had some stamps that weren't stamping completely. I took some light sandpaper and scuffed them. Worked perfectly! 😊

Just gorgeous! Great stamping. Sometime the clear stamps will stamp clearer if you have some type of cushioned mat underneath. The red rubber stamps usually have a cushion made into them , depending on the brand. Have a great day. ❤️❤️❤️❤️😊

Chemistry alert! These inks are permanent, yes, but if you use this now green stamp with any other archival ink color it will eventually contaminate each other. Archival inks are oil based, oil is dissolved by oil. The same for distress oxide and inks, they are water based, thus react with water and cleaned this way. So to keep stamps clean from oil based inks you could buy special stamp cleaners or perhaps use a dishwashing liquid 😂 because it dissolves oils. Maybe you know it already and my advice is useless 😂 Anyway, thank you for your videos! ❤

I love your videos thank you I'm trying to make a vintage journal following your tags and the way you do it. My father-in-law was prisoner of war in World War II, the army for many years and he earned the Purple Heart so I want to do the junk journal but I want to do it with his pictures and all his medals that he earned while serving our country by following your tags and Your bits and bobs, so thank you for that. Margreth, you background paper you practiced your stans on looks awesome is kind of looks like something collaged. You should make something with it perhaps tearing it to pieces and pasting it to another page. I especially noticed thee numbers on the library card thing and various ink colors. It looks like something someone created on purpose.

Love this series on the Gretchen folio! I do have a couple of tips for you on your stamping, I am a card maker so I do a lot of stamping - for a new polymer stamp - they have a residue from the process of making them so before you use them for the first time run your finger over them a few times to wipe away the residue - the stamp surface will look cloudy and that's what you want. (NEVER use anything abrasive on the surface of the stamp it can damage the stamp permanently!) For larger stamp surfaces you can rub them on your arm or back of your hand too. It also helps if you have a baby wipe handy and wipe off the ink right away after stamping and they will remain clean for better stamping. I know you've probably had these tips before but they do work. Love watching your videos!!😊

@@SevenplazaCreative I agree with not scuffing up stamp surfaces first -- it will absolutely damage the stamp and you may see streaks, especially if the stamp is a solid one. If you are struggling with manufacture residue, you can also try stamping in a clear embossing ink first (like VersaMark or Ranger's Distress Embossing Ink) -- it's a clear, sticky ink used for heat embossing, and can help give the surface of your stamp more "tooth" to grab the ink -- this helps if the problem you are having is the ink beading up on the surface of the stamp and not stamping smoothly (it looks splotchy rather than full). Watching the video looks like the problem you were having was more to do with lack of full contact (so having a stamping surface with a little give would be the solution there -- I also left you a comment about this) but I might not have had a great view ;) if the green ink was just sort of beading up on the surface, then Lisa's solution is spot on (pun intended!) and you need to remove the manufacture residue; if the ink was on the full surface of the stamp and just not getting on the paper, try a softer stamping surface. Happy stamping!!!

Another trick that helps with brand new polymer stamps is to "erase" them before use. Just rub an eraser over the surface of the stamp. Sometimes they have a film or something like that and it just needs to be removed.

Echt heel leuk om je zo bezig te zien met allerlei dingen en zoiets moois maken. Als nieuwe stempels niet goed afdrukken haal ik er altijd een gum overheen en ik druk ze af met Versafine onyx black inkt die is ook permanent en werkt goed bij gedetailleerde stempels. Vraagje: hoe haal jij de inkt van je vingers af soms is er geen tijd om het er af te laten slijten🤪 Fijne zondag…uurtje korter slapen😱 Groetjes Maia

Hi Margreth! I don't think the problem you were having with the green tag stamp was due to the green Archival ink ... I think the problem is more due to the fact that it's a solid stamp, and those need a bit of cushion underneath your stamping surface in order to get full coverage of inked stamp on the paper -- when you stamp on a hard surface, it's reeeeeally hard to get enough even pressure over the stamp to get perfect contact between allllllll the inky bits of the stamp with the paper ... You want to have something slightly squishy under your stamping surface instead -- think the cushy part of a mousepad -- not toooooo squishy, because you don't want the paper to curl around the edges of the stamp as you press down. You might try looking for a "paper molding mat" near you -- it's a mat you put down to give paper flowers a rounded edge -- that sort of "squish" is juuuuuuust riiiiiiight (like Goldilocks lol). Here in the US we also have something called "Fun Foam" -- it's the same sort of foam that dimensional adhesive is made from -- a sheet of that would also work well, and it's suuuper cheap over here -- hopefully something like this might work for you, too! I absolutely love watching your videos -- you have such a fun style, and I love listening to your accent. Keep up the great work!

(I'm catching up on your 100 days projects and am just watching Day 33 when I saw you use it when you were DIY-ing the tickets and poking the holes for the perforation look -- that mat might work, provided it isn't too squishy ... maybe try it out?)
