A impact gun in the future would make life a little easier for the change over and few little boxes on the wall beside the machine for the bolts Just a suggestion Great video BTW

Yes good idea, I do have a hex head impact but would be good to get a small 1/2 inch drive

Just like me. Keep everything out of the rain. Stays nice and last way longer. Least you don’t have to change that out often.

So true! I love it. Yes tend to do about 3-4 weeks worth of the longer stuff in 1 good day or 2 smaller days processing

YOu need some little helpers, what happened to all the little helpers ? or is it a health and safety issue? I've been out of the uk for 32 years but by the time I left school had learned a lot of practical skills, guess younglings just want to play fortnight instead of learnimg how to reverse a trailer. Greetings from the Alps. Cheers!

Your set up running 16" (if it could) would be absolutely insane.. or even if I was able to pick and choose my logs would be alot faster .. but for me we get 2" diameter to 24 inch.. at the logs we ran yesterday we got 2 cages per hour.. which is 3.5 to 4 hrs to load a truck.. not good ..

The reason I went for this machine is taking the bigger timber it really is where the high productivity is. The big advantage of this machine is no oversize logs (resplits)

Hello from Ireland. Recently found your channel and enjoying the videos. Can you tell me how much it cost for the cutter and splitter? There’s no price on the suppliers website. Thanks v.much

That splitta 400 is awesome. I want to use it to also make kindling. My problem is I’m located in the United States and I can’t find a side splitting machine that handles 16in. Does anyone know of a manufacturer in the USA that makes one like this?

Fuelwood can send a hydraulic one over I belive. But yes still only 13” max.

Thankyou! There is a huge market in the USA for 16in. I’m surprised they haven’t made a machine for our country

@@douglasedmonds8372 Because they have the superior technology and because 13 inches is better than 16 inches, we should switch to their ways instead of having them switch to our ways. 330 mm is 33 cm is 13 inches. There are no side-punchers manufactured in North America but Andrew was talking about doing one a year or two ago but never has. 13 can still be bundled and is easier to split, dries better, burns better, fits into smaller stoves and is more easily handled by machinery. Why not just sell 13 inch wood instead of 16? According to this video, Archie normally splits 25 cm long (10 inch). 13 inch is fine. Go 13. Rabaud's new 330/450 splitter is excellent. Other side-puncher manufacturers are Fuelwood, Posch, Palax and Pinosa. You need to wait until 2025 to get a Fuelwood. The website for Pinosa is extremely bad. Global Land Equipment in New York is an importer for Rabaud. If you got a side puncher you could be one of the few providers to the growing market for small firewood. Most of the side punchers will split very slender or very fat. Some do not need any kits to change the length. If you want to split Oak or Hickory, do not purchase a Kindlet Pro (250 mm) by Fuelwood. Fuelwood is not doing well --- won't sell electric into North America. They are not cheap and shipping is not cheap. No resplitting is ever needed. Automatic. Superior technology. Which of the manufacturers in this comment have you heard of? The price and the shipping cost should be less if you can run one from your processor hydraulic.

@@douglasedmonds8372 If you want to split hard woods, be careful to not get the older 11 ton Rabaud.. Instead, get the newer 16 ton Rabaud. There is a movable collar on the wedge of some of the side-punchers that eliminates the need for a spacer kit when changing lengths. You can see the collar come out every time for every split.

@@douglasedmonds8372 You could probably sell 13 inch wood.

With 2 people and impact guns it’s loads faster but wanted to show people with a 400 how to do it mainly. But yes definitely worth changing it and getting a load done before changing back
