Well this was fun! I get to play a tune with the person who composed it! Ted Longbottom is a Métis singer, songwriter, historian, and entertainer from the Brokenhead settlement near Scanterbury, Manitoba. He has written some wonderful songs depicting the fur trade and the rich Manitoba history that we are so lucky to be a part of. In the Manitoba Métis world, the Chartrand name is one of the most common.
I’m honoured to have Ted himself joining me on this singing the vocals he also wrote. Jeremy Rusu is on guitar, Daniel Koulack is on the bass and Daniel Roy is on drums and doing the footwork as well. I just love this tune!
