Day 4+5, draining a water damaged basement. Informative time lapse.

Installing a new sand trap and starting to insulate and place drain pipes on the excavated side of the house.
A lot of time spent getting materials so combined 2 days of work on site! :)

Its interesting watching the ways this is done in different locations. Why didn't you seal the walls again?

I agree! It sure is interesting :) The reasoning behind this process is that water will eventually find a way in, no matter how well you water proof it. And now we instead make a good way for the water to get out of the wall when and if it finds its way in :) The problem here where I live is that many basements have panel and/or insulation on the inside which prevents moisture from getting out that way and creates good conditions for mold and rot. With this method, it doesnt really matter what is on the inside wall. Well that is the thought anyway, maybe we will see in 20-50 years how well it is actually working ^^ Thank you for the comment!
