Day 45 - SIDEBONE & the UNBALANCED HOOF ⚖️ (don’t judge from the TOP!) ⛔️
In this show we jump straight into looking at some hooves that have been barefoot only 2 weeks. These are the hooves of a Suffolk Punch called Max.
We also cover:
- trimming a toe callous and chopping off the toe - consequences
- imbalances in the hoof and sidebone
- you can’t carve a hoof to look healthy
- what causes flare to develop
- questioning your professional

What do you do with side bone?

There's nothing you can do with sidebone. The only thing that is available to alleviate or stop progression of sidebone is to have the horse trimmed to their own natural parameters.
