The village is so charming. I can imagine that it was an idyllic part of your life. It’s amazing that the house is in the center of the village but so much peace and privacy. Someone will be lucky to live there and experience it. Love your detailed explanations of the repairs with your considerations to accomplish them. Buying you a celebratory cup of coffee (or cold beer) in anticipation of project completion this weekend.

It's a village, it looks far too small to be classified as a town.

What a difference traffic has made to village life. In that charming old photo the atmosphere was completely different. Adults and children standing around in the middle of the road, the odd hen and perhaps pet cats and dogs sprawling around. Horses and carts calmly passing by. Now the streets and properties seem almost empty and slightly sterile by contrast, though that part of France is still extremely beautiful. A nice place for a peaceful holiday with lots of places to explore. Best wishes for tomorrow - it's going to be a hard slog. 🙂

What a lovely and very small village. Don't know how far away it is from surrounding villages but it is a wonder that at one time such a large looking restaurant could thrive. So picturesque, you were holding out on us for the day 5 tour. It was great. What wonderful place for kids to grow up, floating on the lazy river and bike riding on quiet streets.

I think you are so talented to know all these things to fix your places by yourself and never with any help! I hope you’ll find a handyman to rent your place with a bit of a lower rent for exchange of fixing your place 🙏🏻🙏🏻 one little complaint though and I’m sorry for not keeping it to myself - I wish you were more tidier! Every room that you finish always is a bit of a mess! I watch so so many KZbin videos and they are always so immaculate. Maybe that made me notice yours, in any case, bravo to do so much and being so knowledgeable 👌🏻👍🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Just got your new video to find I am the first making a comment! Really enjoying this departure from your Italian renovation. You seem to have an enormous amount of work to complete in a short time! Didn’t you also have some work to complete upstairs as well? Hope you find a good tenant if you manage to sort the house out.

Love the barbecue! That’s how we used to set it up when we went camping. Once, though, I didn’t have a barbecue grill and improvised with a window screen. Bad idea as the metal was painted.! Waste of some good pork chops!

It all locks so beautiful around the village and you are surly getting stuck into the work around your home . It will look amazing once the work has been finished. How many people actually live in that village now so many buildings seem to be empty . You have so much on the go at the moment looking forward to seeing work done on your other property. The boys have grown I like to see your eldest Boy helping you out whist you are building. When it comes time for you to retire from work which house do you think that the family will live in .

Very interesting, as i have a ceiling here waiting to be done. The town looks a bit empty, like rural areas are becoming. Is good you still have the school going, it means there is future ahead! The school I first went is no longer a school. :( I live in the country as well. My house number is awaiting to be posted, city people find very confusing that the houses have no number, but the postman figures it out, somehow.

Are you intending on putting this property on VRBO or something similar? If yes, info like how far to nearest international airport etc would really help. Nearest place to get groceries etc. Thank you
@NotUselessYet3 ай бұрын
I'm not, I've listed it locally. The nearest Airport is Bergerac, and the nearest mid sized town with supermarket and petrol and such is about 10 minutes away, the bigger town is then Perigueux which is about 20 mins away.

So approx how many homes and families actually live there? How many homes are actually occupied? Very charming. I can see why you wanted to buy it years ago. What was the original price, if I may ask?
@NotUselessYet2 ай бұрын
The official population is about 300, bit the villages are so close together that it never really feels completely empty. I bought when the market was high in 2006 for ~200k

I am a bit confused. Is this the same house you started working on the awful bathroom first? ? The bathroom was outside. Then you made a chute so you could shovel the dirty plaster and dirt out the window to a wheelbarrow, then you put large stones on the kitchen floor.. I watched all the videos of you working on that place, this looks like a different house. Please explain
@kentishbunyip60813 ай бұрын
The house with the chute is in Italy.

The ceiling is so low and adding sheetrock makes it even lower couldn't you have just put sheetrock in between the beams and leave beams exposed the ceiling would be higher. It just super low
@NotUselessYet3 ай бұрын
It's around 2,50m... so not really low at all
