When a home is set to be renovated by this program can it be purchased by a new owner prior to the work starting?

Just an observation, but you were smiling a lot in this video. It made me wonder if you are more happy at that house than the one in Italy. Not that it should mean anything to you either way, but you seem very at home in the garden. Cheers!

Nice properties. Could you please pan more slowly and steadily with your camera? It's hard to watch the video with all the movement. Your subject matter and delivery is great though. Thank you.

quick question do you find being in italy cheapre than when you go back to france - bills, food, petrol etc ??
@NotUselessYet13 күн бұрын
Hi, well petrol has sort of flattened again, food is much cheaper in Italy as are restaurants. Electricity and water are cheaper in France, and both are cheaper in everything than Austria!

Firstly, well done, keeping hydrated in that heat is crucial, surely you worked off a few pounds in sweat alone. I thought your eyes looked incredibly irritated at the end and you looked shattered. Could I suggest rather than transport the wood to the tip, rent a wood and branch chipping machine, which would then produce mulch for some areas of the garden. This may reduce the bramble and grass re growth in some areas. Yes, feeding the machine would be effort, but less time wasted on tip runs and costly “Recycling” outlay! Just a thought? Hope journey was safe and you had some time to rest before return to work. Best wishes Alex

Hi Alex, I did look for a chipper to rent, but couldn't find one nearby for a reasonable price...

I love the garden and location of the house and can see it has a lot of potential, but I really struggle to see it as a rental property. Speaking personally, were I a tenant, I wouldn't want to devote the many hours per week required to maintain such a large garden. And to top it off, the property will require extensive updating and renovations before any sane tenant would want to move in. For instance, the kitchen is in dire need of cupboards and work surfaces. Also, the electrics look a bit dodgy. I wish you good luck and I hope you find a tenant, but I still think you are underestimating just how much time and work the property needs before it's rentable.

You accomplished so much this week. Wow. I followed you every step of the way and watched with awe at all you got done. The drone was amazing. It's so interesting to see everyone's home from a birds eye view. The properties, the orchard and all of your garden is just great. It's been lots of work for sure. I have a question which you don't have to answer. Is it possible to rent a chipper and just grind everything up so you don't have to borrow a trailer, load it and then take it to the dump? Just grind it and use the chips for the garden. When we lived in the country we found a guy who had one for his own use and had him come over for a very cheap price and we helped him grind everything, limbs and branches. Well worth it. We piled everything up where he could back in and did it in one long visit. Just a thought. Xo

You’ve achieved so much this week and what a transformation! Look after yourself, your eyes look very sore, possibly an allergy/hay fever/ reaction to all of the garden action. Sun glasses might help to protect your eyes? Love your videos, you seem such a decent hard working family guy. Safe journey home. Regards from the UK 😊😊

Can’t help worrying about the broken gutter above the barn door. Water dripping down is rotting the lintel and then the collapse of the stone above is inevitable. Next time?

This whole time I thought the veg garden was on the opposite side of the garden. That garden is huge when compared to the homes surrounding it. It is a shame you couldn’t buy the narrow piece of land that would give you access to the back garden.

Looking at what you have left, I think you will need 2 people doing taping and plastering for a week. Lots of sanding as well which is the worst part. Then painting which if you spray will not take long but lots of follow through bits to finish up. You are doing a great job as always. Best of luck and safe travels!

Congratulations, what a fabulous week for us all, waking up here in semi sunny Ireland and watch your video. The weather, the blakberries as a child I used to pick them from bushes alongside the railway lines of course to bring home but never quite making it. The laughter of your family in the background meeting old friends, hard work, your heart must be full. As we say here may the road rise with on your journey

Poor man needs new equipment. Can't do a Herculean task with substandard tools. The wonder is how much he has managed to do with what he has. That "garden" overgrowth needed an army!

My builder explained that everybody lays those decking boards upside down with the grooves facing up. That way the water just sits on them , pools and speeds up decomposition.

Enjoying catching up with your hard work over the week. There was a very good bar / restaurant (L'ensemble) in the village. We ate there a few times but sadly it closed about a year or so ago. The restaurant in the next village (our village), St Pantaly d'Ans, is outstanding...and Maria is Austrian.
