Eating all the food before lunch time was always a problem for me as well , good thing Ashton prepares in advance sounds like a real smorgasbord!!! Surprised there wasn't a provision to lube those pins as much weight as they pull , would've been a true disaster if he truly lost the whole cart !!! Are there many of the old wood elevators left standing like the one where the cart came apart , always found them intriguing!!! Yeah early spring gotta go gotta go towards the end we done yet we done yet !!! Thanks much for the nice long informative videos for sure !!!

Love the video's, the scale of your operation is amazing compared to over here in the UK, 1700 acre field's, that's bigger than most farms here. Wish I had bit the bullet years ago when I nearly came over to your side of the pond for a season custom harvesting, but instead used the money to get my truck license, still regret it to this day. Keep up the good work Mike and keep the videos coming, most of all you and your crew keep safe while doing the long hours.

Solution for the pin issue. The problem is that as you said the cart is trying to sheer that bolt when going up and down the hills. So, cut the tube part off of the frame so that the pin is able to twist. Also drill a hole on the other end of the pin for another bolt, so the pin doesn't come out. Thanks for content and have fun farming!

I like your mention of “Recommending A Power Nap” if required because many years ago I dozed off coming down a hill and subconsciously I felt the tractor lugging down therefore resulting in me down shifting multiple times and when the tractor finally stalled I woke up and realized I was in the “Middle Of A Slough” with about 2 feet of water everywhere. To say my dad was “NOT IMPRESSED” would be an understatement. I was pulling a cultivator with a harrow drawbar behind that had diamond tooth harrows on top of spring harrows. We had to hire from the “Oil Patch” a “HEAVY DUTY DECK TRUCK” with a winch and 1” cable to pull each piece of equipment across the slough one unit at a time. I “Learnt My Lesson” the “Hard Way” when the “Tow Bill” was deducted from my wages.😢😴💰💰💰

Hi Mike, for you pin issues: drill deep hole till you reach the center of the shaft, and drill 90 degree thru the shaft so you have grease coming out on 2 spots between pin and shaft. tap the outer end so you can put a grease nipple. That should take care of that. If you buy 2 pins and prep them so you can do this while in production and the old pins you remove do the same for the next machine. So you don't have down time in the season
@mikemitchell25544 жыл бұрын
Yeah that definitely sounds like a later summer/winter work but yea!

Hey, thabks for the video. EDC means Electric Diesel Control. In Europe at least. It could be a lot of things but usually the engine will be cut vack from diesel, won't go as fast or as high rpms. It protects the engine. We had EDC pronlems varying from water in the fuel filter, all the way to exhaust gas reutilisation valve that was cooled by emgine coolant and engine coolant was leaking into the exhaust gases (Iveco engines fron italy). Never had an EDC sigb and the engune wouldn't start again. Engineers at MAN probably had different safety thought for their engine. Hope its fixed, let us know what it was. Have a great evening/day. IMO after sowing is done pull all them pins out and take them to a work shop that can machine out some grease-ways for some grease to be pumped to the bearing surface. Bourgault make some nice stuff but that is one big oversight large pins like that should always be greased. i hope yous tell Bourgault about this problem and recommend they redesign the pins with grease-ways in them and recall the old ones.
