Beautiful waterfall, bridges, and a race against the rain to set up camp.

Don’t you think that everyone should hang out in the woods for a few weeks every year, just listening to birds, the trees, and waterfalls? We were made for that break from people noises. ❤. As John Muir said it “to find my soul” and as God said it best “Be still and know that I am God” 🥾❤️🏔️ 🌲

In the “olden Days” in South Africa- every student did a week of ‘veld school’ in the bush before going to high school. Would be great if everyone did that before graduation. Increased benefits for each individual to know their planet

I meet 3 former AT thru hikers at that trail head and helped feed hikers this past Monday (5/20) so apparently i just getting to meet you bears! We feed about 22 to 24 hikers that day.

14 miles is getting easy for you two. Would you say you have your trail legs now? I was just thinking that she never shows them getting water and boom then you did. I just spent the last couple of days viewing Trail Days vlogs from a group I followed last year. Big Willy, Typical, Vagus, Pingpen, Badbat and North Star. But by the end of their trek to Katahdin I felt like they were family. Praying for you both every morning. You will enjoy Marion, Va. ❤😊

We have a lot of cows here in Wisconsin, of course, lol. Even if you dont own cows here you get to know a little bit about them. If the cow you herd, or heard, lol, sounded like a long, loud bellowing, chances are she's in heat. Of course theres all kinds of reasons cows moo. Theyre very talkative and actually have different sounds depending on if theyre talking to the farmer people or other cows or their calves. I think Little Bear has gotten taller. Maybe that will work in her favor scrabbling rocks down the road. Also did she get a new pack or is it a rain cover? Beautiful scenery and breathtaking waterfall. Still so proud of you and you even got to camp early. You both sound tired, so it must of been a great feeling to get the tent up and everything done for the night. Be safe and have a blast making memories. ✌️🫶

Why don’t people put an Apple tag on their dogs, just like you can do with luggage? They can then locate them with their phone. Breaks my heart at these lost dogs.

..There are a few GPS devices that attach to a dogs collar ,, most work pretty well , if you have a dog that wanders a good idea ... easy to lose track of whereabouts if they are after a rabbit or squirrel , and chance to get stuck or injured ..

Do you follow Stella hiiks? She had a beagle join her for her though hike last year. She turned him into a shelter. It could be the same dog?

I have followed her and remember that dog. (Can’t remember what she named him though.) I think I remember her saying he was eventually reunited with his owner at the shelter.

Dogs are often roaming the mountains randomly. Some are lost hunting dogs or dogs that have somehow gotten loose from their property. Likewise, many dogs are apparently allowed to roam around but then eventually return home. Can’t imagine letting that happen, but we’ve been told it’s pretty common.
