Welcome to part 6 or this 7-Part Neck Pain Relief Series. These neck exercises may be appropriate for you if you have a lack of cervical lordosis or neck curve, herniated disc, chronic neck pain, cervicogenic headache, cervical disc degeneration, arthritis in you cervical spine, a pinched nerve, spondylosis or just want to maintain a healthy cervical spine and nervous system. If so, you are about to partake in a journey of stretching, strengthening, massaging, nerve flossing, balancing and neurologically enhancing your cervical spine. Keep doing the series as long as you need and even do your favorites over and over for maintenance.
Please ask any questions you have in the comments and, if you like a video, post it to social media to help others.
In this video you will use a rolled up towel or the Pro-Lordotic Neck Exerciser as a fulcrum to extend your head back and push into your neck curve. The Pro-Lordotic Neck Exerciser provides resistance while encouraging the lordotic curve in your cervical spine. You will activate your cervical extensor muscles and even your deep cervical neck flexor muscles. Imagine a tool that both mobilizes and strengthens at the same time. It is the most utilized tool in my chiropractic practice and 99+% of people will benefit from it.
After a car, bike, snowboard or other type of accident, the anterior longitudinal ligament can tighten and we can lose the lordotic curve that we had in the womb and that we were born with. This causes a deleterious traction force to be put on your spinal cord which can but stress on your whole nervous system resulting in a plethora of problems. The Pro-Lordotic Neck Exerciser pushes into the lordosis and can help re-stretch or elongate the anterior cervical structures like the anterior longitudinal ligament. This even helps hydrate thinning degenerated discs, breaking-up adhesions or scar tissue and encouraging imbibition or a drinking-in of fluid into the spinal structures from the surrounding tissues. This is an excellent “warm-up” before any postural/structural corrective chiropractic and is a stand-alone benefit to your spine and nervous system.
Thanks for being here. Please share with your people on social media. Chances are they need it.

Omg I just love you! My ears got 'blocked' after an accident and treatments 6 years ago. There is constant pressure like as I am landing with an airplane (but I never land). Driving small hills already increases the pressure on my ears and there is no way to open them up. I have seen at least 20 different specialists over the past 6 years and none has been able to help me so far. I discovered your videos 2 months ago and have been doing the Neck and TMJ series twice a day. I have faith again something can change for the better! Thank you so much for these videos and for the humor you put in there which make me even smile while doing the excersizes.

Been doing these exercises for a few weeks now and every day there’s big improvement. Since spring my left upper thigh muscle went numb. Been waiting ages for an MRI but I honestly have had so many crazy symptoms that I had to try to do something while I wait. So thank you for these wonderful videos. What is amazing to me is when I do these neck exercises, that left thigh muscle goes from numb to a burning sensation. So somehow whatever is going on in my neck seems to be causing the numbness in my thigh. The exercises are waking this muscle up. And I hope to regain the feeling there soon. These are great thanks again.

@@dradamfields Yeahhh my neck was tense so he massaged it out and manipulated my jaw to the remove tension. Just genius, also i think some thigh exercises for my tightness be great, also right swollen ankle which i have to always crack to improve mobility.. so i wouldn't mind that too and a chest exercise maybe when i get my low back adjusted it may resolve it but still hate how tight and compressed it is! hello, I love your exercises and the encouragement you provide in all your videos. You bring a lovely energy, thanks. I feel like its helping me lots. I have a question, though. I have herniated intervertebral discs and stenosis in my neck: are the neck circles still good for me? I am reading conflicting views on this. The truth is I have been doing the circles, it doesn´t hurt and in fact my neck feels freer, however, I am also starting to have issues with vertigo and I wonder whether this may be the reason. Thanks in advance for your reply.
@dradamfields
@dradamfields 3 жыл бұрын
I think a thoughtful and slow circle while listening to your neck is okay unless you get pain. Do around 50 of the occipital lifts and see if that helps your vertigo. If not, check out my ETD video: Eustachian tube dysfunction kzbin.info/www/bejne/Z162i2SoZsmhntE All the best.

Dr. Fields, this always feels better after I do these exercises, but I do experience dizziness as I am doing the first exercises. What might the reason for this be? It is getting better...just curious...
@dradamfields
@dradamfields 2 жыл бұрын
The extension (when your are bringing your head back) could be making an occipital misalignment worse. This would be a top possibility. Try doing a 45 degree neck stretch to the front to open that space between the base of your skull and your neck. Also, try the occipital lift prior to doing the video. Getting to a chiropractor that will adjust this area could help you if my guess is correct. Many people have this when their ergonomics are bad. Laptops are a big cause of tightness in this area. You've got me thinking...i'm going to do a Q&A video on this. Thanks for your comment.

I love Montenegro. I went there after watching Casino Royale. What a beautiful and unforgettable place! Class IV laser can be great for a hernia. It works with tissue healing. Mine is 60 watt and has helped many with hernias. Self massage or with a massage therapist is great if there are trigger points in the area as well a pulling down to help the hernia (plenty of info on the web on how to do this). Make sure you do core but not where you are aggravating the area. More static holds like plank, side plank, bird dogs, etc.
