Cheers to your days success. Thanks for the share. Kudos to the nice sunset. What you do show on your volg is magnificent. That is nature as it is as you both experience it. Awesome! The chainlink fence is actually to keep the town/city/state from having a liability law suit filed. Some idiot will always have a need to play in a land fill or train tracks. The fence helps to protect idiots from their own stupidity. 🤔 Wishing you safe passage and good fortune. Happy Trails!

We picked up a couple of boxes of Lenny & Larry's cookie-fied bars at the discount warehouse here, they are really good! The flavor available was a peanut butter chocolate which is generally NOT my favorite. (I know, weird) but they are good! I think 12 - 15 on protein and maybe 8 fat? They are touted as 'complete' bars, whatever that includes.

Great sunset! Roanoke is a good mix of large enough to have plenty to do but still not so large it's lost that small town feel. Of course Lynchburg, just east of there isn't a bad place to settle either and we have better weather because a lot of the coming out of the west winter storms hit the blue ridge and head off to the north of us here.

I live 2 hours north of Roanoke but I've been well acquainted with the town for decades, and I think Roanoke would be a great place to settle down. I've even considered it myself. Also, I hope this doesn't sound too weird but Heather, your mouth forms the most interesting shapes! Never seen another one quite like it. Oh, and that's a perfectly complimentary comment. I don't want you to feel otherwise.

Enjoy following your journey. Roanoke is a totally cool place. My brother just moved there and we’ go up often to visit. I had hoped to meet you at trail days but didn’t see you. I like to try to meet the hikers I follow but as you know, it is crowded. I had to leave before the parade though. I did see some of the hikers I followed last year. Keep up the great vlogs!

My hiking buddy lives in Roanoke! That field absolutely has the best sunset on the trail, at least the parts that I've hiked so far. I got some great pics. I hope Trail Days was awesome. Hopefully next year I'll get back to doing a ceremonial blessing at the lighting of the fire cirlcle. It's not the same since the town kinda took it away from Ms. Janet.

I can’t remember the brand off hand but I do know we’ve ONLY found it at wal-mart. And my two faves are power crunch and barebells!

Oh My, You can almost see the Shenandoah's after Daleville. But first the Triple Crown... Then just follow the Blueridge parkway. These Hostels are spoiling Y'all. Don't think I have seen hikers gain weight as they went.

I’ve lost probably 15 pounds so far! But me being sick for like a week didn’t help either lol
