When you look at the sounding scenery it's hard to believe that everywhere was full, it looked like you were the only people for miles around. You got a great place to wade out and swim in the lake but hey, I love flatbread! Great time-lapse on the evening and I can see the appeal of camping in such an idyllic place when you have weather like that, cheers Alan

Thanks for watching! Yes in that wilderness area you are only allowed to camp in designated campsites and they are typically spread a good distance apart.

There are some nice big campsites on Commings. Too bad it was full but I am glad you found a site.

We were glad to have it, more and more people came by later in the day when the lake was filled up.

Looks like the only good thing about that site on Cummings was the beach. The BWCA definitely was busy last year. Nice wildlife shots. The macro shots with the flowers and insects were cool too. Thanks for the break from the cold weather.

Yup, cold! And I can only imagine how much colder up there in Ely!

@@MamasBasecamp I escaped to tropical southern MN at the beginning of this cold snap LOL. Overnight lows have been about 20 degrees "warmer". Highs have actually made it above zero (barely) vs. Ely remaining below zero since last Sunday. Guess having a "winter" home in Rochester isn't all that bad after all... no, actually, I'd still rather be up there.

@@nibimocs like you I would love to be in Ely, but we've got our work and our school so I will have to be happy just to visit once per year 🙂

This trip must have been before Ams got her own boat!

We don't let her bring the kayak to the Boundary Waters - too much portaging!
