Hiking the entire trail takes about 10 days (for most), which is about the limit one can reasonably do without resupply. The part you hiked is the least isolated part of the trail; it gets much more remote as you proceed farther south. In fact there are rather few places where you can access the trail farther south, and some of these are at the end of remote logging roads. The trail receives little traffic and parts of it have a barely discernable footpath. That said it is quite well marked and easy to follow if you keep your head up. It is very rugged and there are many, many hills to climb. Keeping the trail reasonably cleared is a huge job done by volunteers for the most part. A new crop of trees falls across the trail every year, and these have to be sawed out. All that said this is a gorgeous trail, and unique in its remoteness in Ontario.

Did not know that trail existed in my backyard. You seem to have encountered an overgrown section or maybe it was just the campsite, do you know if you can thru-hike the trail?

Just looked it up, a bit far from the city of Ottawa, the trail goes north from Temiskaming, about 7 hours by car NW of Ottawa.
