The Great North Walk is a hiking trail from Sydney's Macquarie place to Newcastle's Queen's Wharf. A 250km journey north following tidal rivers, through forests, past sandstone overhangs, coastal beach walk and coastal cliffs. I hike for 16 days solo only seeing 2 other hikers in hot humid conditions that pushes me to near heat exhaustion. Its also takes days to be out of the flight path and noise of the Great North Freeway and train line to Newcastle. The scenery is spectacular even though it's so close to Sydney. Today is from near the end of Kilkenny Road, Somersby to Archers Campsite
