Only one category of people in India is immune to the taxman's wrath: the salaried class. This is because the employer is responsible for deducting tax at source and remitting it to the government. This group has served as the government's bakra (scapegoat) for collecting income tax for decades (I-T).
Businessmen, self-employed professionals, and, of course, corporations all have ways to avoid paying taxes, but the salaried guy does not, at least not on his salary.
One most common reason is that the salaried class lacks the Knowledge of Income Tax.
To empower the Salaried Class in India, I have started an initiative "Empowering the Bakra of Income Tax - the Salaried Class".

Hi Gurpreet, I switched my company in 11 months and received gratuity as 14,000. This will be Exempted as per the logic? As I have not completed 5 years and Still received Gratuity. I am working in another firm now. (private to private company switch)
