1) Similarly, you'll find a lot of children managing their father/mother's business, paying a salary to the children can help save a lot in taxes. 2) If the amount paid is shown as Salary and not Commission, the recipient can also claim a Standard Deduction u/s 16(ia) to further reduce the taxable income. Salaried people staying with their parents can pay rent to their parent who owns the house and claim HRA benefits from the employer I believe . The parent has to declare the rent amount as an income in their IT return.

Of 6 lakh salary standard deduction of 50k can be deducted.. So 5.5L will be total taxable income (not 6l as earlier)
