Looking good, DIrty Bunny! Thanks for sharing your journey and the beautiful views. Your positive attitude is going to get you far! I hope it stays fun for you as many days as possible. Glad you are taking care of yourself as you go. Looking forward to seeing you getting farther and farther north. Vermont is a few states away, but we have a very pretty part of the trail up here and welcome all of you. Best wishes on your trek north.

Go girl, you are doing great. You are walking the length of your country just like your forefathers. (Only they walked the width.) You will soon see new flowers on the forest floor and new birds, animals and snakes. ( Careful of snakes, this time of year, they are dopey from the cold and sometimes strike at anything.) I saw one when I was a teenager (back before a couple of wars. Not telling) that struck a young tree that was waving IN THE BREEZE 3 times before giving up. Anyway enough, just walk your walk and enjoy. Will keep following.

Brian Snyder. I didn't know that about snakes. Thanks for the advice.

Hey a quick tip for your feet to prevent blisters....My Podiatrist suggested using Vaseline on my feet anywhere that rubs-- I do this all the time now and NO MORE BLISTERS. Best advice ever!
@HikerFeet7 жыл бұрын
Dianna H Funny, i just started doing this every night. Clean with wet wipes then vasoline. So far, blisters healing right up!

I am hiking on Az Trail this spring and forgot to do it the first day out; I paid for it big time with blistered feet, UGH... one hard lesson I won't forget. I dab on a generous amount right before I put on my boots and haven't had any blisters since.....

There use to be an AT shelter on Rocky Mtn. There still is a spur trail up there to the old shelter site with a nearby spring. North of there about 10 miles is Addis Gap. There use to be a cool A Frame AT shelter there. Funny how things change, but stay the same.

Wow nice view of Rocky Mountain, never noticed this mountain for the last 2 years. Very nice of strangers to help hikers eh? But it is nicer to get their pictures lol as you stated earlier. Be nice to your body and don't push it. Your feet will pay for it. You are doing perfect mileage and it is the pave that myself and 3 awesome ladies will be doing for the first 15 days. Where was your swag picture at that sign lol. Awesome video and you look very happy. Cheering you on till Katahdin. Then in November, you can enjoy my 30 days of video on the Quebec IAT trail.

Hi Dirty Bunny:-) You are doing fine! You are obviously focused and making the best decisions for you! Like you, when I was on the trail sometimes people would be concerned because of delays in the publishing of my videos. I had to explain to viewers that it is not always possible to upload videos when we would like. In my case, I also had to give some time for my editing staff (ie. my sons) to work their magic:-) I am confident in you ability to realize your dream and I look forward to watching your updates when you can post them! You will do this Michelle! Alpenglow
@HikerFeet7 жыл бұрын
Alpenglow Thanks Alpenglow. Yes, I can't post anything when I'm on the trail. I just got into Franklin and now I have to find wifi. I'm sure I'll find it tho. I am staying at a place with no wifi, but should have some tomorrow. I think. Possibly not. But I'm having the time of my life and cannot believe I passed the 100 mile mark!.

Hi Dirty Bunny!! I had caught up with Reddmage and Your ch poped up. I love the way you are doing your Ch. Not to long and good info, Keep it up :) Wow Blisters on day 2...Maybe your trail name should be Tough Cookie!! Way to hang in there. I think you have the mental part of the game within you. Early on you mentioned while talking about your backpack....the cross bar that hit your neck. I have been looking at this pack for a while online. Have you found this to be a problem? Are you able to look up w/o it poking you in the neck? Maybe you could give us an update on your pack. Do you plan to show any meal prep? Looking forward to more of you postings. Keep up the good work. You are a Thru-Hiker in the making ;)

I'm not sure if this helps with why they call it Indian Grave Gap but just a few miles from there Hwy 19 has an intersection with Hwy 60 and there is a rock pile at that intersection. Legend has it that a Cherokee Indian princess Trahlyta died and is buried there under the rock pile. Tradition is that travelers who pass that spot leave a rock there on the pile in honor of the princess. As I said I'm not sure if it applies but at least its not a gruesome story. I am following yours and Reddmage's hike this year, enjoying both of your vlogs. I am planning on being part of the 2018 class. Here's wishing you the best of luck.

Hi there fellow Hoosier!! My name is Liz and I have just recently found you while searching for 2017 AT videos! I moved to Roanoke, VA from Fort Wayne 5 months ago and since, have developed a goal to hike the AT. I have SO enjoyed watching your journey thus far and will be watching for when you get close to us! Also, I wanted to put it out there, if you are interested, my partner Chris and I would love to offer a room for you to sleep in, home-cooked meals if you choose to stay with us, use of our kitchen and/or bathroom for a hot shower, rides to the grocery, market, or wherever you may need to go and anything else we can help you with!! If you're interested, I would love to connect via facebook if you have it, phone or email. Just let me know which works best for you!! We do plan on setting up shop to give out some trail magic somewhere along the trail near us when the larger thru-hiker groups come through so if you don't take us up on the offer, we hope to see you on the trail!! Love and light!! Liz
