Can’t wait til y’all hit the Smoky Mnts. Leaves should be changing and the view’s spectacular. Love living here. 🍁

Such beautiful views - now I want to visit Shenandoah. Incredible. The trees have a lot of great personalities, too.

Be mindful of the bears! My late husband’s favorite mountain area. Spent a lot of time in and around those lodges.

I live like 25 miles from SNP. There aren’t many bears these days. Mange was in the park in 2021. A trail runner told me last month they are hoping for a big bear year maybe next year. But who knows. I’ve seen only one this year and it was from a great distance.

Ok then, I guess Stranger and his many food wrappers can forget the thought of a bear. Thanks for the update.

@@patriciabarnhart1886 Maybe he will be lucky to see a bear.

We love seeing P Paw’s pictures every day….and I’ve been meaning to mention the candy cigarettes….when I was little it was so much fun to buy them and play act smoking…I never did really smoke, but it was fun as a kid to pretend….so funny that you brought back that memory

the trail doesn't get much easier than the SNP. and the waysides are great!

I'm so glad the waysides are still open! That will make your trek through Shenandoah all the more enjoyable -- good views AND good food! Just be careful about the bears. I don't know how accurate it is, but they say the bears are the worst in New Jersey [Delaware Water Gap NRA], Shenandoah and the Smokies (I suppose those are all well-used recreational sites with lots of trash to attract bears.)

You should wax the ends of your mustache and give them a twist! It’ll be your hiking fashion statement.
