Fr. Mike continues to examine the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit’s mission. We explore the joint mission of the Son and the Holy Spirit. When the Son and the Spirit act, they act together. Fr. Mike emphasizes that though the Son and the Spirit are two distinct persons, they are inseparable. We also examine the proper name of the Holy Spirit and the different titles we use for the Holy Spirit. Today’s readings from the Catechism are paragraphs 689-693.

I attended the Vigil Mass tonight which welcomed 5 new Catholics into our family! Yay! But I pushed myself to listen past my closing eyelids to hear of the mystery of the Holy Spirit & how He & Jesus Christ Our Risen Lord are one in the same breath. You're so right, Fr. Love the Titles of the Holy Spirit - Paraclete ( Advocate, Consoler ), Spirit of truth, Spirit of the promise, Spirit of adoption, Spirit of Christ, Spirit of the Lord, Spirit of God, Spirit of glory And for explaining & expounding re: Jesus’ saying, “I will ask the Father and He will send you another advocate ( Jn 14:16), pointing the joint mission of the Son & the Spirit. That Jesus is the FIRST Advocate, then the Holy Spirit is the SECOND Advocate! Wow, another of the many actions of God showing how much He loves us, not just 1, but 2 distinct but inseparable Advocates, Consoler!!!

I like the name Holy Spirit much more than Holy Ghost which I learned as a child, likely pre-Vatican II. First Communion and Confirmation last evening at Mass was so beautiful as I thought about this journey through the Catechism! God Bless. Praying for all.

April 8, 2023 Remember that Divine Mercy Sunday is the Sunday after Easter. Novena started on Good Friday. Here is Day 2. Attend Confession and Receive Communion. Pray the Divine Mercy Chaplet, too. Second Day: Today bring to Me THE SOULS OF PRIESTS AND RELIGIOUS, and immerse them in My unfathomable mercy. It was they who gave Me strength to endure My bitter Passion. Through them as through channels My mercy flows out upon mankind. Most Merciful Jesus, from whom comes all that is good, increase Your grace in men and women consecrated to Your service,* that they may perform worthy works of mercy; and that all who see them may glorify the Father of Mercy who is in heaven. I just saw the movie, His Only Son, and I highly recommend seeing it. It is the story of Abraham, Sarah and Isaac. The movie finally answered the question for me as to how Abraham knew it was God speaking to Him when he told him to sacrifice his son Isaac. A Blessed and Happy Holy Saturday to all.

After Pentecost retreat in 2020 the Holy Spirit lives and is active in me. It is just amazing to live in the guidance and instructions from the Holy Spirit. I listen to Fr Dave Pivonka every night, prayer to the Holy Spirit, in the Hallow app. It's just so beautiful and very comforting. Fr dave has a very mellow and gentle voice. I too was raised with Holy Ghost but think the title was changed to give more clarity to the interpretation of His title. Much like the term "consubstantiation" was brought forth to bring more clarity and authenticity to its usage.

I remember in my early life praying to the Holy Ghost. Some very conservative Catholics still pray to the Holy Ghost when making the sign of the cross. Did this change after Vatican 2? Is using the name Holy Ghost improper?
