@Arthur-nr5ci11 ай бұрын
The ball flying off the table was nuts. Probably had something to do with the template. The ball coming back out of the hole does happen from time to time, usually when the balls in the pocket get stacked on top of each other. That's why Johnny Archer and some older school players used to always move balls from one pocket to another before they shot at it.

"Comeback stronger next year" well it's not that simple. The quality gap between two teams is widening as the time goes by and it likely will not gonna stop soon. US players should stop playing pool at the local bars for quick cash and concentrate on playing 9ball. Albin Filler and FSR are all focused on playing 9ball but you have guys like SVB who plays all disciplines of pool all the time, that is the only reason they keep missing simple shots. The patterns in 9ball v 8ball v one pocket are very different and when you don't spend nearly as many hours as your opponent on the same pool discipline chances are you're not gonna beat them.

SVB played some of the worst pool I have ever seen him play. Really hope next year he isnt just automatically on the team cause of who he is, he's played in enough and has a horrible record as it is. Tyler Styer is another one I wouldn't mind seeing gone, he hasn't ever made me want him on the team with his past performances. Wolford played great for a first timer, pressure didn't seem to faze him much. Sky plays great pretty much every year and he seems to love the atmosphere and doesn't get rattled by the pressure. As for Fedor, he didn't play great but, it was his first run with the U.S. team I believe that had an effect on his play especially in doubles matches. I dont think he's played with the guys enough to have a good amount of chemistry yet. They better do something different cause thats 2 consecutive years they were just manhandled and had their ass kicked by the guys across the pond.

Every single European player on that team is in the TOP 24 In the WORLD Fargo rating. Wolford and Styer arent even if the top 100. I do it once or twice a month on my home table. The reason is my table has plastic pockets that go to the ball return. With enough back or forward spin on the cue ball it transfers to the object ball sometimes causing it to spin back out. This wouldn't happen on netted pockets

How is it acceptable that Filler, who lost 2 matches, is the MVP when Ouschan and Alcaide ended up both unbeaten?
@ZenKingscom11 ай бұрын
Do you know the criteria? Who decides?
@doraemon40211 ай бұрын
@@ZenKingscom This is probably Emily Frazer's choice and the criteria is whatever she wants. Players like Filler and Shaw, who have more flare and presence, are flashy and are characters have a higher chance just based on that. Just like in 2021 it was absolute BS that the MVP was Shaw. But, what can you expect from someone who single handedly decided a non American can represent America just to try to make the cup more competitive?
@stevewimmer975810 ай бұрын
American pool is horrible now because nobody plays. There used to be at least one pool hall in every town and now you can't find one. They're just not profitable.

😮😢😱 OMG..... what a disasterous performance by TEAM USA !!!!!.. simply outplayed n outclassed by the 5 elites of Team Europe.... Team USA seriously needed to conduct a post mortem on their selection....this will go on for the next few editions unless they unearthed another 5 new "miracle players".... u cannot rely on SVB and Woodward anymore 😢😢😢😢

@danielearhart646711 ай бұрын
I can't see the US winning any more Mosconi Cups. The odds now are really against them. I expect four of the US players will be participating in the next 5 to 10 competitions. And as a team against the current and future Europeans they just are not good enough, nor will they get much better. The opportunities and money is just not there for US players. And the situation will only get worse. I applaud Shane Wolford for trying, but if he is the future of US billiards, the outlook is indeed bleak.
@choojoohuat905210 ай бұрын
Maybe to level up the 2024 edition... Team Europe might consider sending in their "B Team" of Kazakis, Kaci, He, Zielinski and Lechner or maybe a Team Europe Seniors of Souquet, Feijen, Melling, Appleton and Pagulayan .

USA built their roster based on skill. They needed to build it on both skill and personality. Mosconi cup is about momentum and energy. USA players have no energy except Sky. Europeans have an entire lineup of talent AND personalities. Of course they will win. USA needs to change how they decide on who plays next year.

Europe has over forty countries and 2.5 times the population of the US. One country versus an entire continent??? Break them up into 3 or 4 regions. Then add Taiwan, China, and the Philippines, each as their own team. Now take those 8 teams and have a Mosconi team tournament. Single elimination, 3 rounds, each match held in a different country. Still could be done at the end of the year, maybe start round one near the end of November.
