Once upon a time, a new tech would have to wait literally years to advance into a CT or MRI position. Now, so many openings require rad plus “something else”, which is good. Great video! 🩻

Question for someone who would know I've had to get some MRIs before multiple with contrast is it supposed to be kinda cold like not cold cold but enough to feel the temperature drop at my crease in my elbow vein and warm but going to my shoulder it was always a weird sensation to me and I was wondering if that was kinda normal..

How would they expect somebody with small kids to figure out their care and get to the hospital in 30min? It seems unrealistic to have a babysitter on call for 48-hours. I’m just curious because I’m interested in this career choice but am confused how a mother would manage this.

Honestly, probably just the child-care option, although it sucks. Either that or try and get a hospital who doesn't do on-call like this

Wow 3dlls an hour. Thats low. I get 14 an hour for on call. Used to get 20.

It's probably 3 an hour when she's not doing anything, which is pretty good imo. Is it 14 for all 48 hours or just 14 for the hours you're in the building?

Yes, mri machines don’t have radiation they use magnets. In most hospitals you also have to have both your radiography tech degree and an mri certificate before they can hire you

I get 12 an hour to be on call for MRI and automatic time and a half for at least 2 and a half hours when I do get called in. So if I come for a cauda Equina and do the 8 minute L spine, regardless of my clock out I get the 2 and a half plus the 12 an hour
