I moved to NYC all by myself when I was 31. I felt young and free. It was literally the best time of my life. I explored everywhere, had cocktails at fabulous bars, ate at fabulous restaurants mostly by myself. I learned so much about myself and grew so much as a woman. Thank you soooo much for your vulnerability, Lauren! As someone who moved from a small town to NY, I can tell you that there are stresses hitting you that you might not even be thinking about - and they're probably making it harder to deal with negative comments/people/etc.... I found that the severe weather, pollution, unfamiliarity with the area, frantic pace, and difficulty sometimes to connect with people was really draining. Also think of how much noisier NY is compared to Alabama, and how you haven't developed your "touchstone" places, group of friends, or activities yet - these things may also be affecting how you're feeling. Please know that you are SO valued and special, and that you AREN'T weak for feeling or sharing any of these emotions! You've been through huge changes over the last few months, and you're slaying it!!! :)

I’m a new subscriber and I haven’t commented on any of your videos yet, but I feel like I need to say I completely understand how you’re feeling about your emotions. I bought my first place and moved out from my parents 3.5 months ago. It’s something that I have worked towards and dreamed of for so long, but when I was finally settled, I was so unhappy and lonely I cried everyday. I think it’s so easy to have a mentality of “when xyz happens I’ll finally be happy” and when it does happen and everything isn’t perfect it hits you so hard. Maybe what you’re going through is the same kind of thing. I will say that now that I’ve been settled and adjusted for a few months, I feel more like myself. Give it time and I’m sure you’ll only start seeing and believing the good things life throws at you. Much love 💕

Moving is one on the most stressful things you can do, especially when it’s a big cross country move, and stress in one area will probably make you more sensitive in other areas. Give yourself some grace. Follow the funeral rule. If you’re absolutely certain that person won’t be at your funeral, their negativity isn’t worth your time. Keep keeping on. I’m listening to this doing my makeup, but wanted to comment :) you could be the BEST cup of tea (or PSL) in the world and there’s still people who don’t like tea. These people are taking time out of their day to put you down for what?? Jealousy, who knows what. But their opinions don’t matter at ALL and they’re probably miserable themselves. Aw Lauren, you are a beautiful soul and don't you forget it! I went through a similar change as you, except opposite in location. I went from a big suburb to a small rural town. It's very hard to transition, when it's such a huge change. Also, not only are you going through that but you're changing your living dynamics and your channel is changing too. Don't ever feel bad for being vulnerable. I genuinely appreciate your honesty, through the good and difficult times. That's one of the reasons why I subscribed to your channel. What you do does matter. You appear to live your life so authentically and it is so inspiring. I too find myself sad or crying sometimes even though on paper and in reality life is great. It's quite a move you've just been through. I'd say it's natural to have some sad days and days where you may need a little more you time. You're got this though and you're doing the right thing for you. Also love that you are already so into fall. I purchased some new halloween decorations recently, a happy pumpkin and ghost, and they are already on my desk. I work from home so it's just a lovely silly happy thing that I get to see everyday :)
