My father in law had heart issues and his cardiologist put him on a strict plant based diet for a year and when he came back she told him he was completely better and didn't need to be a patient of hers anymore! He has gone back to being more vegetarian but still eats mostly plants, but I am so glad he is doing better!

I recently got a notification on ihealth that my cardiovascular health has improved. It’s only been like 2 months using your plan and already feeling and seeing the benefits of a plant based lifestyle. 💛

Yes, the Esselstyn family is amazing. You would really enjoy listening to the son Rip's plantstrong podcasts and interviews. They are so inspiring and it's incredible how people have turned their health around by eating plant based. Love your property. It would be amazing to have ginger and banana plants! My daughter got me buying that pasta sauce. It really is good 😋

I love the Esselstyns and read their book. I have their cookbook and Rip's cookbook also. When I first went plant based I focused on health more than losing weight and wanting to look a certain way. And you are so right because when I did that the weight came off and everything just fell into place. To make a long story short I stopped eating plant based, gained weight, my legs and feet are achy and sore. I am 56 and feel 86. Now I have to start at the beginning again and although its going pretty good I am having a harder time not focusing on the weight I have to lose like I did the first time. Plus the first time around I was so strict with no oil, no salt, no fat that I felt deprived. There was a lack of flavor going on, lol, even though I have many recipes to choose from. 😀

Honestly cooking any meal plant based or not, is time consuming if you don't plan and batch a little before the night of the meal. I find that if I roast some potatoes, make a grain and have a sauce on hand makes putting a meal together super simple. Just add some fresh chopped veggies and yummy!

Yes, I love prepping enough food for a few days or a week at a time! The only thing I do each day is my smoothie bowl but maybe I’ll try freezing them like you suggested! 👍😉 I loved seeing and hearing all the footage of the plants on your property - it’s so beautiful and peaceful ❤️

I loaned the book to a friend. He had had three cardiac events, one each of the past three years. Three heart attacks and one stroke. He returned the book a week later and said no way could he do that kind of diet. A week later he had his third heart attack and died a few months later.
@HighCarbHannah11 ай бұрын
Oh no im so sorry to hear that 🥲 our friend has never eaten plant based and he went straight into it with no doubt. He already lost 10 pounds and his cardiologist said he is doing great.

It's so frustrating. Some educated medical professionals saying plant based is the only way to go, and so many others saying carnivore. I have no idea what to eat.
@carlacookingvegan10 ай бұрын
Eat anything that doesn’t have an ingredient list. Even if you’re still gonna eat meat, don’t eat any that you haven’t prepared.

Try carnivore see how u feel and go from there cause plants have a lot of oxalates and other issues.. u can always do animal based

Oh my God that is so easy to creep back into your diet.. we took a year sabbatical to travel we're doing it as a family of four I eat plant-based My son is vegetarian but my husband and other son eat meat.. and the longer we're on the trip the more oils and avocados and all that stuff I seem to be eating because we eat out more often and they're eating delicious and looking and smelling foods and then I'm like oh let me just add some more oil to this to make it taste better.. and having all that in my diet has made my knees and my joints hurt.. when you have a clean diet for so long and then you go back to that other stuff you can tell instantly what's affecting you

Having never heard of Gummy Worm fruit I had to look it up. They grow in the Pacific and Atlantic Mexican coast and in Central and South America, at an elevation of up to 2600 feet. I will have to tell my grandchildren about Gummy Worm trees.

They are very invasive and grow super fast. Its actually rare to be able to pick them because the fruit is usually too high to reach but they dont taste very good 😂

Thank you for bringing attention to heart disease, we all need to be selective as to what we consume. I am leaning towards having good plant based fat in "moderation" as the people in the Mediterranean area show low heart disease rate.

If you are now living in the hot tropics, here is a fast simple recipe that will hydrate you. I got it from my Russian community. Coursely grate a unpeeled cucumber, add some cold water and a bit of lemon juice and a touch of salt. I add a sliced hard boiled egg and diced green onions. Its a cold cucumber soup, it fills and hydrates.

@HighCarbHannah10 ай бұрын
They grow all year round. The mother plant has baby offshoots (usually 2-4) so when a plant produces bananas you cut the entire tree down. And it reproduces through the baby off shoots. Banana plants are technically an herb.

Your cat minds you as well as my cat does. I believe that cats have one focus and everything else is tuned out. They don't multi-task is my experience.
