Do you know a job called "Furisode san"?
In Japanese hairstyle, white makeup, and kimono, they dance and entertain customers in banquets.
Just like "Maiko san" in Kyoto.
In Asakusa, a popular sightseeing town,
they call these ladies "Furisode san".
Today we are with 27-year-old "Furisode san", Tomoko's day in the life.
If you wish to enjoy their service,
it's usually quite expensive.
It's one of the entertainments for the celebrities.
However there is a place where you could fully enjoy their service with reasonable price.
You could experience the service "Furisode chaya" at famous Japanese restaurant " Towada" in Asakusa.
/ asakusa_furisode
Today, Tomoko is working at "Furisode chaya".
She entertains customers with her conversation and dance in beautiful kimono.
She is also a big OTAKU of anime, and dreaming to become a voice actor. She is going to tell us why she became an OTAKU, and will show us her house filled with anime goods!
Hope you enjoy Japanese culture and lifestyle through her DAY IN THE LIFE!

Hi, I'm Ken.
This channel introduces you to Japan’s culture and lifestyle
through my own lens as someone who was born and raised here in Japan.
I’d like to cover both positive...
and not-so-positive aspects of Japan that are authentic.
You will surely see the real Japan of today!

it's refreshing that some people in your videos in their late 20s have some kind of dream unrelated to their current job. In my country, 27 years is considered a fairly respectable age at which a girl should already be married, have children and a permanent job that she will not change. I am 27 and still not working at my dream job, still not married, I have no children and I dream of changing country of residence. In my country, it is considered too late for me to change anything, because I will soon be 30. But I watch your videos, and some people at the same age have not yet achieved their dreams and are striving for it too, and this is considered normal. It inspires and gives me hope that it's not too late for me either. Thank you!

Cheers to being 27 and unmarried! I am proud of my state in life right now because my friends got kids way too early and are struggling financially and their dreams took a turning point because of the added responsibility. Another thing, I have co-workers that are in their 40s that regret having kids too early at the age of 21-25 because they couldn't do a lot of the things they wanted. Thus are envious of me because I travel during my days off. I'm Asian so I know what you feel when you say that at that age you should be married etc and are getting old. But, I took my own path and will decide my own future and not have some culture dictate it for me. I am turning 27 in a few weeks, have a stable job which pays well, no kids, in a steady relationship and have travelled a lot of places. My only responsibility is myself and helping out my family every once in awhile. We're in a good spot. Don't rush and enjoy your youth!

May I ask where are you from? I'm a male from South East Asia and lived in Japan for a long time, and indeed women in my home country face many problems with job/dream/marriage before the age of 30. In Japan, simply because women age slower, heave a much better income, that's why they are not worried much about getting married.

I think this "Day in the Life" is my favourite to date...it was really fascinating!! I watched that game that Tomoko played (with the cup) on an English cooking show where two chefs went to Japan and even then it looked great fun! I'd love a follow up on Tomoko in the future. Many thanks, Ken and Erica.
