Hi! First time watching your video. I have a question do you live on base? Is it typically like this even in tech school? I’m having a hard time finding accurate information that’s recent. Do they also allow pets. Last question, would this be considered Administration department?

hello, I do not live on base. Um, I would say no not really depending on what tech school you go to I know it varies from the different career fields I have met. Also, you're allowed pets when you get to your first duty station, some bases are different but i remember we were allowed one fish, a guinea big, and a hamster in the dorms but that is it. Once you move out of the dorms you can have whatever pet you'd like and can afford.

No I live off base, no apartments on base asides from housing :)!

How long after tech school can you get an apartment?

I was in the dorms for 8/9 months. But typically for others could be longer or shorter. You can always go to a financial advisor and show the a budget plan and show them you’re able to live on your own and you can get moved off base and start receiving single BAH!

@@mariselakapps I'm 32 going in soon and have good credit, finances, no car payment/debt and I was curious about this. I don't mind dorming for BMT/Tech School and at my first Duty Station for a while etc. I was curious how this whole process worked. I know higher ranks or people with dependents or married get BAH pretty quickly. What did your budget plan include and you get BAH and don't have to pay out of pocket for your rent etc?

@jackiie1012 I personally don’t mind it! It honestly depends on the person. People love to just shit on specific jobs in the Air Force and I know people who like it and dislike it. Typically the people who don’t like it are the same people who went in as open general or the people who washed into the career field.

@@mariselakapps I was delayed enlistment for one year and upon high school graduation I was off to Air Force Basic Training. This is when it was five weeks two days in June 1983. I went in on an open contract and choose 122X0 which was Aircrew Life Support, it is called Aircrew Flight Equipment now. I never regretted it. Aim High! "Only the Best Come North!" Yes, I was stationed at Minot Air Force Base.
