From my personal experience…. The stress of constantly being hyper aware of what you’re eating, being super non toxic, and almost like overly health conscious is more harmful than actually just living balanced and taking a more relaxed approach to health. We have all these gadgets that can monitor every aspect of our health and honestly sometimes you just gotta give it up to God and focus on slowing down ❤

I appreciate you bringing up the topic of the functional medicine doctor, your views changing, etc. I know it's a difficult thing to talk about these days even without a platform, so I really respect you being open about it knowing people might disagree. It's encouraging to hear more and more people talk about more holistic health lately!

Hey girl, I deal with a ton of stress too, mostly kid related as we have kiddos from 17-2. I am type a and I need to plan my day, conquer the world, do all the things and what I've realized is that the to do list is literally never ending. There will never be a time where it's all complete and I can sit down to relax. So what I've found that helps is to actually write things on my to do list for me to intentionally destress and relax. Most of the other stuff can wait for a few minutes and you need to realize that self care each day is JUST as important as exercise, water, healthy foods etc. You do A LOT and you need to need just a tiny bit of time for you. You can't pour from an empty cup mama. Much love.
@laurenrasmussen799711 күн бұрын
Also wanted to add, even just don't simple things like sitting down to color with your kiddos instead of going to folks laundry or something can be calming. Last night, my kids were ready for bed early so I let them watch a short movie and I snuggled up with them and read my book. You definitely need to plan for whatever relieves your stress a bit. Literally, write it down and check it off each day. You'll start to feel so much better!

TOTALLY agree with you on functional doctors! I also grew up eating crappy food. Glad you're pushing to get answers. I was diagnosed with hashimotos 12 years ago (I'm 40). Didn't take the meds because I was told it would add fuel to the fire because it's autoimmune, not just hypothyroid so. Stress is a huge factor as you know. Hope they are checking mineral imbalance with a hair minerals analysis.❤

I’m also a nurse. Retired after 39 years of practice. I went down the rabbit hole of functional medicine. An example: I quit my statin because I was told it wasn’t necessary and dangerous to be on. I also eat relatively clean and exercise. After six weeks my cholesterol was extremely elevated. Just be careful the information you take in and from who. Very conflicted reports.

You are ahead of the curve! ❤ Don't apologize for being smart ❤ What helps with stress is cut off sugar and coffee and add Tri-Magnesium and L-Theanine (I use Integrative brand for both). HI Tiffani! I can so relate to the feeling of being rushed all the time (and always anxious too)! I feel rushed to do everything (including going to the bathroom) for no reason sometimes. I just got a book called "Heal Your Nervous System" and I just started reading it but it seems to be a great resource with a multi faceted approach to healing dysregulation in your nervous system. Hopefully this could help you too. I also wanted to say that I'm keeping your mom in my thoughts and wishing her and your family the best 🥰

@NicolleDuffy11 күн бұрын
Hi, Tiffani! I am extremely interested in how you found your new wholistic doctor? I do live in the same general area as your family, but I am struggling finding wholistic doctors around here. It seems like Penn and Tower Health have the healthcare market cornered in my area. Side note - my mom healed her hypothyroidism with a clean keto lifestyle. It runs in our family and after four months of eating clean keto she's off her thyroid medication. Im sure it doesn't work for everyone, but it sure did for her!
@HeatherMoritz-h7n9 күн бұрын
When I stop eating dairy my thyroid corrects itself and I’ve gone completely off all meds. I have had thyroid issues for 19 years and celiac for 14 years so don’t eat gluten. Try no dairy and see if you can heal your thyroid , it def has some correlation for me personally

How my friend and her husband are HEALING their hashis: I take what’s called Natural Dessicated Thyroid (NDT) and the brand is NP Thyroid and yes, it’s pig hormone! For anyone with hashimotos I think it’s even more important that they are on that version over a synthetic (usually levothyroxine and/or liothyronine) for various reasons. Funnily enough, so many drs (even really great ones specializing in thyroid) say that once you go on an NDT or a synthetic, you usually can never get off of it. And, that once you have it, they never see people heal from it. That’s why I was so shocked when I started researching carnivore and read many, many stories of people healing their hypothyroid or hashimotos via carnivore and being able to get off of the medicine. It’s one of the reasons I started! My husband also had hypothyroid, and his is almost completely healed - he’s almost off his hypothyroid medicine!

I love how at 36, you've already figured out that it doesn't matter if people think you're crazy. You know what your gut is telling you, and you're acting on it. I'm 53, only in the past 10 years or so have I come to realize what truly matters. Regarding your stress and desire to bring cortisol down, schedule it into your day. Cut some slack where you can and add 15 minutes of yoga at the end of your day. Add another 15 minutes of reading before bed. Game changers! I hope you are able to get some help with your mom's meds. It's disgusting how the health care system is in this country. Prioritize you, so you can be there for all those you care about so deeply. Air mask on first you first so you can put everyone else's on ❤

I went through the insurance debacle with my Mom and I finally got her the meds she needed. Best advice I can give is to document every conversation...phone number or website, date and time called, name of person talked to and what was conversation about 💜💙💚💛🧡 p.s. I'm sure you know this bc you were in the profession but also make sure the coding for the meds is what the insurance needs.

You have a lot on your plate! Yoga and meditation will go a long way in helping you. The more often you practice meditation the better you become at it. Yoga falls under self care so maybe taking time for 1 class can help restart your practice. That shrimp dish looked delicious, I’ll need to add it to my meal plan for this week. There is so much love in your videos, let it help you relax.
@Eva_Hope9 күн бұрын
She’s Christian so she can’t do yoga and meditation. Yoga is Hindu and each pose is an act of worship to their gods. Meditation is Buddhism. It also opens you up to demonic spirits and witchcraft. What starts off as “relaxation” becomes very dangerous. Many people report hearing or seeing spirits when meditating. I say this as someone who used to be deep into it. The bible tells us we can only worship one God and forbids witchcraft & access to the spirit realm unless it’s the Holy Spirit.
