To help interrupting, have the child place their hand on your shoulder and wait. Place your hand on top of theirs to signal that you acknowledge them waiting. Finish up the sentence or thought/convo and then turn to child and say “thank you for waiting! I’m all yours”

@@ausssiefam it does work. It’s part of the Montessori method. You need to stick with it. The point is to wrap up your thought/sentence not your entire conversation. Your goal is practicing patience and waiting respectfully. The goal is not to completely develop that skill for your child in one go. Like any skill, patience and waiting is built over time and practice.
