I relate so much to it being hard to make friends as also a 25 year old with no friends. Finding communal spaces to find friends that don’t circle around alcohol is so hard, and since my job is not really full of people my age it’s even harder because other than my family those are the only people I see. Hey! I haven’t pressed play yet but I just felt the need to say that I’ve also been a sort of silent watcher since your hair dye days in 2019 and I just want to say that you are a real inspiration to me (as cheesy as it may sound haha). I’m 19 so watching your videos has always felt like getting tips from the older sister I’ve never had. I could never relate to the more popular lifestyle or beauty youtubers but you just have such a natural and relatable energy. It always feels like catching up with a friend whenever I saw one of your videos in my inbox. And I have a lot of respect for the journey of your marriage specifically, both for you for standing up for yourself and going through with it when it felt right to you and just as much for when you got divorced and managed to blossom through your newly achieved freedom instead of letting it get you down. I’ve struggled a lot with loneliness throughout my life and now after 3 years of therapy I too am content and even happy with being alone. Alone truly doesn’t have to mean lonely as long as you enjoy your own company - you are so right about that (Saw the saying on your thumbnail :)). I’m glad to have come such a long way during these last few years and I’m proud to have been a part of your coming-of-age story too (so far)! I’m looking forward to see what this year of life holds in store for you, best of wishes and keep being yourself, you got this!

So funny that you mentioned "dating friends" as a way of making time for them. I have found that whilst being very selective as who could be a potential friend I feel like I'm dating/ interviewing them in order to protect myself from investing time into the wrong people, as I get older I value my peace and sanity way more than being around people I don't vibe with. Omg, you gotta get Twilight. I read it at 18 because my mum got me the first book from an used book shelf without knowing what she had just brought home and at first I was like... haha ew twilight. But then I started reading, got to the second chapter and became OBSESSED. It's literally so stupid and weird but in a good way, the writing style is pretty good and makes you feel stuff which was actually something my depressed late teenage self needed. I reread it multiple times. Now I am seeing the red flags in the books more clearly... but it's still a great memory and I am reading them again but this time in Spanish to practice my language skills. What a dreamy morning with your pups in the water! That looked so nice. 🌊 I have 3 friends right now. I met them when I was 17, 19 and 37 respectively. The most recent I met while working part-time at the library (excellent job for meeting humans), and you’re right, it’s like dating and it’s like falling in love. I don’t have a friend group, just individuals. We text a lot and see each other maybe a couple of times in a month, which is perfect for me. It can be a long journey to finding someone you connect with, but it will happen! And there’s nothing better! Good luck. 💜

The friends I make are work friends but they are shy and anxious and around my age so it works out well. We have a group chat and hang out. Things do have to be planned out like a month before so everyone can join though

that water looks delectable, i cant tell you how much i wish i had a place lkke that near me in this hot texas heat. i also struggle with trying to or caring to make new friends. i feel like if you could find a pottery or gardening club that would be real nice! ( my friends who live far away from me made some friends around their mid 20s in a pottery group, we are also all 26), i find it hard to make friends cuz i too dont love drinking and (being in the south) im not religious, so its hard to find community in more online interests in person. i wish you luck! from what we can see in your videos you seem like youd be a great to a lot of like minded people! theres gotta be a bunch if other jojos bizzare adventure fans nearby too lolol

I think I quite understanding the point you want to say about friendships.. and the complexities of standers you want and you feel about it, but the whole concept of friendship is respect the other one’s boundaries, I know it’s hard to find them but be patient and don’t give up your boundaries, I’m pretty sure you will find the right person or maybe group of people.. you make it online so why not making it in reality Enjoy your peace and quiet life tell you find that one will sits around you sharing thoughts about novels!, have a good day Note: I gladly love the logic of the standers you believe in since 2019 till now :)

We try to go with hyking groups and stuff too but it's exactly as you said, people tend to be way older than us. i relate so hard on the making friends thing. im only 22 but like holy shit i go through literally all of that. my only recommendation is sometimes there’s meetups at libraries and shit. like there used to be a board game appreciation club at my public library and the range of ages there was actually pretty decent ? like i don’t think anyone there was younger than me but the average age was probably late 20s early 30s which is like. idk perfectly acceptable age range i think. i have no idea what ur community is like though so this could almost definitely not apply to you at all. but. when in doubt go to ur public library. i am a library stan

Children of Blood and Bone, Scythe, the Lunar Chronicles, Throne of Glass are good starter books. TOG and the Lunar Chronicles are about seven books so it’s a bit long. The rest are trilogies.

Okay and about the friend thing: I need to start finding friends soon as well and it will be so awkward and so hard but we need to try. Something I've learned from meeting up with a friend from school I've never spend time alone with outside of school is that it's normal to have this awkward phase of not really knowing what to do or say. You gotta push through that, make some memories together or watch movies/read the same books to have stuff to talk about and relate to and at some point it will get better. So don't worry if any of you have a hard time making friends. Sometimes you just have to keep trying and go through the weirdness and be brave, you'll get there (and hopefully me too)

Look up your nearest ecstatic dance! Ecstatic dance spaces are alcohol/drug free dances where youll meet cool hippies and catch good vibes. Its a natural community space where youre free to be and move howver you want as long as youre being safe and respecting others. Sorry for commenting multiple times (but ig it's good for the KZbin algorithm??)... but dude, fr, it's so hard to find friends that are fine with doing activities that don't involve drinking alcohol. Maybe they do a couple of times but whenever they go to a club or a party I feel so excluded. I wouldn't be happy there but they are making memories and bonding while I am getting left behind. I will be honest with you Ellie I have a hard time making friends sometimes to because I don't get out too often I am a bit clingy at times and there are times when that is a bit of a turn off for some I live in Ohio and I live around apartments near a park and I see people there I say hi to them and one of the neighbors I go for walks with here and there and she is very nice but I had been walking with a neighbor that is a girl too and she told me not to text her anymore and to be honest it was pretty much me I was a bit clingy at times and I think it was a bit of a turn off for her but she still likes me there we just don't see her very much we are on good terms though glad things are going well for you 😊

I agree, being around drunk obnoxious people is annoying. But just because you go out to events where drinks are involved, does it mean it’s going to get to that. There’s nothing wrong with having a drink or two in a social setting. It’s good social lubrication. Maybe be more open to that.
