I remember my 25th birthday like it was a year ago (because it was). I opened a bottle of wine at midnight, drank one glass, and then went to bed. And I cried. Not because I expected big things and people throwing a surprise party. None of that. I just tend to beat myself up about all the things that I should've achieved, had done, what kind of person I wanted to be, and how much it differs from who I am. In the morning I went to my classes and that was all. My 26th birthday was better. I just think I need to fuck off from myself. Happy birthday Ellie!

I spent my 22nd birthday alone this year. Like most years. On the 4th of July too, I was so depressed I legit just stayed inside all day. Since it's a holiday it's never been about me, I've never spent it with friends because they're usually busy, I live states away from all my siblings, have zero contact with parents, and my grandparents go on vacation every year and don't spend it with me. I didn't even do a cake or candles, or anything special for myself lol. The longer I go without anyone actually caring about me, the less I care about myself too. It's just been building and building over the years of constantly being put last, so now I don't even value myself. I hope I get into a relationship so I actually have a reason to care about life and get up in the morning.
