I was actually offered a team manager position at my college. I was already working in my college's athletic department. The Coach's the good relations I had struck up with the players as well as my attention to detail to all the player's wellbeing. I was an athletic trainer at the time. One of the guys who treats and prevents injuries so the Coach's approached my boss and asked if he wouldn't mind if I transferred. He actually encouraged me because of how well liked I was (not that I normally brag) but I transferred at their request became a manager and I have no regrets. I made lots of friends that I otherwise wouldn't have and the team was more like a family than anything else. Now for anyone actively seeking a team manager position you would need to go to the Athletic Department or Head Equipment Manager to ask about joining.
