Dialysis process uses an artificial kidney (hemodialyzer) to remove waste and extra fluid from the blood. The blood is removed from the body and filtered through the artificial kidney. The filtered blood is then returned to the body with the help of a dialysis machine.
Dialysis is helping people still give quality of life.

I think the venous side takes two prime cycles because, when I think about it, a lot of times when I string machines I start the first prime then I move to the next machine to start stringing and priming that machine but I believe it’s stops Midway to not waste saline… maybe And the green thing is a “turtle“ 😂 I know I’m 3 years late though DJM

Yes PCTs mostly do everything. Putting the patients on and taking them off the machine. The nurses do assessments and give medications. 😊

As someone who is afraid of needles and wanting to be a nurse how can i desensitize myself to this, ive applied to be a pct and i shadowed and i got extremely dizzy (never happened before in my life) felt like i was gonna fall over, when the lady i was shadowing set someone up on the machine. I also didnt eat at all that day so theres that too, im gonna shadow again and really try to get used to it, i wanna do something more fulfilling.

How is it going for you now? I'm a dialysis PCT, this is all new to me.. it's only been 5 months. I was always afraid of needles and blood and thought I could never deal with it but somehow when you concentrate on work aspect, how to insert needles correctly and so on that fear goes away little by little, the more you get exposed. And when you do good it's even better, the fear goes away and confidence comes.

Yes you do! But you only take it one time and you're good forever! Just need to recertify every couple of years!
