I'm Siobhan, a first year internal medicine resident, and I'm currently doing my Intensive Care Unit rotation. Today I'm joined by my friend Carol, who is a 2nd year internal medicine resident (a year ahead of me in the same program)!! Find out what a 24-hour call shift is like and experience a day in the life of a doctor, with vlogging in the hospital!
This is a 2 PART video - so don't forget to SUBSCRIBE and TURN ON NOTIFICATIONS so that you don't miss the second part, which will be released on Saturday 17th at 11:30am
COMMENT below if you have any questions or if you just want to say hi... I always love hearing from you guys!
Thank you so much to Carol for joining me, it truly made this night fun, despite being super busy :)
Thanks for watching!!

Discovered this channel a week ago and I’ve probably watched 30 videos already. I love the insight they’ve given me into what hospital staff go through. In some ways this makes me want to work in a hospital and I’ve never had an interest in medicine.

hey siobhan, if it’s okay can you please keep doing more of the debriefs and patient encounters that i saw in a video not too long ago, i really loved hearing about the actual illness or issue that you had to face, because sometimes it’s like ‘i just went and saw a patient and now i’m going to see another one’ without actually saying what you had to deal with and i just find it all so fascinating so i would love to hear more of these! :)

You are such an inspiration! Thank you for showing us your world as a doctor! I‘m a veterinary student(4th year - we have 6 years in total) from Austria and it‘s so interesting to see where similarities are between our jobs. I‘m going to do a semester abroad to South Africa and already so nervous because we have to treat there our patients alone (but also under supervision if we are unsure) and I can‘t imagine doing that in less than half a year 😄 I hope I will be such a nice and positive doctor (or dogtor?) like you are!! :)

It's so amazing to see Canadian medical KZbinrs, and Canadians in general!!! I'm heading into my last year of undergrad in Ottawa and am really looking into McMaster now after watching your videos. You seem really happy with the experience and really looking into PA school at McMaster or U of T. have you had any experience working alongside PA's yet? I know it's relatively new to the Canadian healthcare system but would love to know if you've come across any, since your area of Ontario has the only 2 schools in the province!

SO.....you are just in your FIRST year following med school,....as in INTERNSHIP..... right??? Saw one of your other videos that seem to indicate a possible specialty in Cardiology. which, as a lay person, has been a area of fascination for me ever since I was growing up..... , same for hematology and immunology..... SO FASCINATING....and I just LOVE ANYTHING connected with the E.R. - Emergency!!! LOVE watching TRAUMA-LIFE IN THE E.R. They even did a few shows from DETROIT RECEIVING HOSPITAL.... Years ago, i read a book called, INTERN by DR. X. It was fascinating to me!!! YRS. BEFORE CABLE T.V., let alone the internet.... I just love watching your videos, love being able look around a real live hospital in a way most patients would never get the opportunity to do.... I would be bugging the medical staff to no end if I was ever to be in a hospital overnight for any reason. I live near DETROIT... Look up WILLIAM BEAUMONT HOSPITAL in ROYAL OAK, MICHIGAN.... They have become a major cardiac oriented hospital.... . Look up U-M HOSPITAL.., ANN ARBOR, MICHIGAN....
