Really enjoyed this video, thanks for sharing. My driving instructor starts at 9am and finishes at 8pm Mon to Fri. He's been doing that for 30 years. He is a total trouper. I passed my test on the 3rd June 2021 with 5 minors.

Hey Jen. So best advice I can give is focus on practice before taking part 3. The more lessons you csn get in the better because a lot of the information you need is in experience not class room training so you have to be on the road. 😁

Interested in becoming a driving instructor apart from I’m turning 47 years old and what’s your thoughts of the health implications of the job?
@JoshRamwell27 күн бұрын
Really good question if I'm honest that's the biggest negative of the job. I've massively deteriorated in the last 4 years since starting out as a driving instructor however that because I purely focused on working 8 till 5, 5 days a week with no exercise at all. Gave me really bad posture and muscles like a jelly fish. Since I've regularly gone to gym a few days a week and walk the dog most days I've no problems at all. So to answer your question if you exercise regularly you will be fine. If you do no exercise and sit in the car for 8 hours straight you will likely suffer. I also intermittently fast 5 days a week which has helped massively control my weight without dieting. Lots of people will tell you this is bollacks but my opinion is if they have never been fat don't trust them because they don't know what they are talking about 😁🙌

I realise this was a year ago but what I've seen of your videos many give the perception that you are always rushing around. (maybe that's what you want) In terms of cancellations. Your business plan needs to reflect a certain amount of cancellations. Ie you book 30hrs a week that you can manage but if you finish with 25hrs that is what covers the bills. Great if you do the 30hrs then take the Mrs out for a meal Friday night. Or save it for some CPD. What I have is a spread sheet that covers all my costs. Business and personal. It's everything including tax. My next aim is to plan 1 hour between every session. I do only 2hrs. That gives me time to spend going to the toilet. Popping home for the cat to see her. Maybe have a 10min walk between the lesson. Pricing is the key. You basically work one hour less for each hour you charge more. I know your costs we all have the same costs. So if your charging £30 an hour your barely earning around £15. Possibly less on a bad year. I know cleaners charging more than that. No offense to cleaners of course. Pricing is key. Work less for more.
