28:12 - that's exactly what happened on my driving test. I didn't realise that the test was shorter due to the demand, so when the examiner turned off the sat-nav and started guiding me back, I was convinced I had failed. But rather than give up I just put that to the back of my mind and carried on and when we got back I was shocked when he said I passed with only 2 minors. Just goes to show you shouldn't give us and stop trying if you feel like you've failed during your test.

Congrats Remy!!! Enjoy that new freedom! And 2 minors is an amazing result

My own I-thought-I-failed story -- the examiner put his hand onto mine and gently nudged it so that I get a safe clearance from parked vehicles on the right (Romania, driving on the right) and I had at that moment when it happened twice assumed that I failed. Surprisingly enough I passed AND the examiner remarked that I really breezed through it. I did get 11 points (21 is fail)

I would say Aman passed gloriously. Period. She verbalized everything she did very well, she showed she had control all the way through though she had to get used to a car she had never driven in before and she anticipated every situation like a pro. Unlike you on your mock test, but that was because you can get quite talkative. I bet that if you would take another mock test and concentrate more, you would pass as well. I love the cross channel collaboration, you have a new follower! 😅 If you ever want an experienced driver from the mainland to take a mock test, I’d be happy to come over there! I really love both your driving lessons. But just one suggestion for her. She put her leg just underneath the clutch multiple times. It is very dangerous incase you have to do a emergency brake. Your legs may stuck with the clutch while responding really quick. Just always keep the left leg on the resting pad is more safer. Keep doing videos, love it.

Nice video, so fun, i like it very much! 🙂 After this point ( 31:22 ) i like to make a suggestion: check out how many signs we use in Hungary in real-time situations! ;-) The driving test here is like destroying the Deathstar :-D If the examiner is taking 100% serious, than nearly "mission impossible" to make it! So many signs, so many rules (half of them are unnecessary), so easy to fail.... And there is no progress (counting) in fails, no need to do it wrong multiple times, you missed a blind-spot only one time and "bumm", you fail! 🙂 You hold down the clutch while turning in a bend, you fail, no matter how good you control the car... You miss one signal, and you fail, as i fail .because it-. :-) In example, the turning procedure in junction is the same: middle mirror, side mirror, then signal, but before you turn the wheel, yo must look back and check blind-spot of the same direction where you turn. If you forget it, you fail, even there was nobody there. 🙂 We don't need signaling in or before roundabouts, only if we exit from it, or change lines. But, if we change lines, then must check blind-spot to, if not, you fail! And you must do this if change lines in high speed roads. or when the traffic run the same direction in multiple lines: mirror, mirror, signal, blind-spot, than turn. If you make reverse, and not turn around and keep looking back, you fail! You can use side mirrors, but only for short time checks. One of the stupid things: if i drive in rain, and -whit my car- i splash the pedestrian, i make a minor point. 10 different minor = OK, 11 different = fail. :-D Aman's reverse parking was nice, here in Hungary i learn it 100% this way, and there are so many common thing what my learner told me, and what Aman tell for her students, :-) Here we need min. 30 hour driving lesson with dedicated instructor, and min. 500km driving with him/her. After that you can ask to do a real test. No mater how good your driving skills, if you don't have the 30 hour driving, you can't sign up for driving test. And this is not enough, because so many stupid drivers running up-down the roads :-D

When you were talking about the cycle area at traffic lights, (Where you would stop further back at the first white line, to allow cyclists to position themselves in front of you), In the town where I live some side roads would also have a raised red area at the end of the road/street, It looks like it has a white lowered curb as if you are going into a driveway, the red area, (sometimes it’s more like a paved area, not tarmac), then another lowered curb, before the main road at the end, There are a lot of drivers that don’t wait at the first white line, (the first lowered curb), to check if there is a pedestrian going to cross, The driver just pulls up to the main road, (checks and waits for any traffic), before pulling out, Basically the red raised area is to be treated as if you are pulling into or out of a driveway, as technically you are driving across a paved area where pedestrians have right of way, Pull up to the first white line, check for pedestrians, wait for them to cross, then pull up to the second white line, if the raised area is clear, to check for traffic on the road you’re turning onto, You should also be aware of this area when turning into these types of side roads, (they look like as shown at 14:55, but at the end of a narrow side street, mostly on the end of one way streets), 🇬🇧😎👍🏼

Parallel traffic is allowed on multi-lane roads, and vehicles can travel side by side at different speeds. Slower vehicles should generally keep to the left lane, but sometimes the slower vehicle is in the right lane, not following the keep-left rule. This situation is not considered classic overtaking (as there is no lane change), the rules of parallel traffic allow the faster vehicle to pass the slower one, with increased caution, as long as it does not interfere with other road users.

I subscribed, based on the cross over. My thoughts. You didn't ask, I'll proceed. I've watched both videos and I'm sure a year on, all that needs to be said, has been said. I've not read comments, because that's a minefield. Across both tests, DSTV is the most nervous despite obvious aptitude. CVD also becomes nervous. Structured observation, causes a nervous reaction. The most natural thing across the two. No matter how good you actually are, pressure is a thing. Anyone taking their tests going forward. Chin up head down, good luck. Half the test is good old fashioned structured confidence. AKA, good learning.
