Day in the Life of a Gordon Food Service delivery driver (Rainy day) in 2024

i just started at GFS a couple weeks ago. having worked at Coca Cola for 4 years im pretty familiar with how this all works. ill stay this, wheeling cases into establishments is the easy part i think…by far, the most difficult part of working at GfS as a driver is digging through the pallets looking for cases. down stacking entire pallets when you barely have space is an absolute headache and so back breaking and time consuming. there has to be a better system, idk what the answer is but this cant be it lol.

@easttremont718 you’re right about that brother. It’s a lot of time consuming. That’s one thing I hate about it and not having room specially when you’re on your first stop. It definitely has to be a better way to do that at least for routes that doesn’t have a lot of stops, it could be all set on its own pallet. Keep it up brother!

Yes make each pallet pure for each store or no more then 2 stores on one pallet

I can imagine. 6 months go by fast soon you will be driving that big boy. Also, look if you could relocate. Some states are short on drivers they could offer you a spot. Good luck and keep grinding!

What is the starting pay for CDL class A with no experience at Gordon?

In my location it started at 31-32$ I believe but now we are paid on component. Basically by the boxes, stops, miles and more.
