my brother works in japan, he said its pretty normal, they are very fair and quick-responsed and keep on doing whatever that was undone, even a ramenshop owner/manager also wash dishes when other employee got their hands full at the time, sometimes they come to the front greeting and servicing the guest, the amount of respect given in japan is insane but the downside they worked too hard it looks workaholic for non japanese

@@ryana5435 Rent a Girlfriend is straight up bad and infamous for having little progress with an already horrible plot, and the mangaka keeps milking this series and even simps for Chizuru, his own character.... I dropped this manga and I'm surprised I still managed to read until Chapter 250 and eventually dropping it in 2022, haven't remembered what happened in the story after that... Except for the infamous Chapter 218 where he literally drew a sex and ntr scene...
@Spaced925 ай бұрын
@@swordlovers7360 That sucks, ngl though I'd milk the shit out of a successful series, a lot of Mangaka's have rushed endings when they run out of ideas, or ended it early because they lost passion and then never really have a hit again. Like no offense to anyone that liked this manga, but I wouldn't really trust the fanbase of most manga to have a solid perspective, let alone one like this. I've seen some really trash, distasteful anime and manga where the reputations are relatively good.

I think it mostly sucks to be a Yakuza member these days. There was a massive shift in the laws that make everything they do impossible. It makes even talking to the Yakuza an arrestable / jailable offense.

As readers we probably flip through 20 pages in like 5 minutes and don't think twice about the many, many hours and hard work that go into just a few minutes of entertainment.
@renardjunk3 жыл бұрын
As reader, I really do. But as artist, I hold the page sometimes, watch at it and think like “jeez, I really love the artstyle, mangaka did his best”
@lizzyrank54053 жыл бұрын
I feel the same about animation. Hell even chapter books are the same, a book can be in the making for years but is never picked up or will be read within hours for the consumer. That's why it makes me mad that people won't pay the artist. It's one thing if you don't want the product, but if you are asking and want it then you should be paying them. Even if it's small it's the hours and appreciation that you are paying for not the product itself. I think people should really look at how someone makes something and see what it takes to make a movies, book video or even a small necklace. Then I think they'd have more appreciated for the products and the people making them.
@ahmed.hasan_3 жыл бұрын
We are paying money for it so its okay. Do you expect us to keep seeing it for a week too?! Thats like saying you have to eat the food for an hour too just to appriciate the chef. But sometimes I open a manga page and see it for a couple of minutes and praise the mangaka's art.
@phoenixwing23 жыл бұрын
your brain is probably processing through all the detail but whitout let you consciously noticing it while you're reading, that's why even smallest detail is of capital importance, just imagine reading a manga with good history but rough drawing, you'll probably think this is not a good artwork even if the story is good.

I really like those "Day in a Life of" videos. You really are able to give an amazing insight of those different jobs in Japan, also doing it with great respect of those you follow and interview. As for mangaka, you managed to give a lot of informations without being in the typical "Mangaka video in Japan". For example the digital aspect of drawing was something i didn't even think it would be happening in Japan because all the videos I have seen about Manga were the same. It was a great to see how the new generation of mangaka is adapting with technology. Thanks for this amazing video, can't wait to see the next one.
