Goodmorning Shamyra!! 😊 For the most part I am a silent supporter. I found your videos at the end of 2022 when I had the interest of doing medical coding. My dad and best friend tried to dabble in it, but it was not their cup of tea. I looked into and I was like wow I can do something like this as a career especially as the introvert I am lol. I decided to go the self study route as well. I studied all of 2023 and took my first exam attempt July of this year and failed by 1 question! I took it again this past Wednesday and I passed with an 85. I too also want to specialize in obgyn and I just want you to know you are greatly appreciated and thank you so much for your inspiration Queen!! ❤❤❤

I do laundry and sometimes grocery shop on my lunch too. I like to be productive on my breaks so that when I clock out, I’m completely done with my day. I just need to workout, cook and relax. Haha. By the way, you look good! You’ve motivated me to get back into the gym to slim my waist and gain some muscle weight. Love your videos!

Hello! New follower here. I have my masters in healthcare admin but I am an introvert who currently works for an insurance company as a claims adjuster and I am finding out I am not a customer service person at all fast. I would love to get into medical coding but 1) I am currently making over $60,000 a year where I am and I do not want to take a pay cut 2) I don’t know where to start as I don’t want to pay for the course I only want to self teach 3) I want to get into OBGYN coding too. Also which book should I get if I am planning to take the CPC certification in 2025?

Do your videos the way that works for you and makes you happy. I enjoy seeing you do other things because it’s shows me what is possible. For example, I was literally just thinking how could I do this with a one year old and a husband. Then I thought, if she is doing it then I can do it too. 😌🙂

When taking the Self Paced course for the CPC with AAPC, were there videos segments within the course training that helped guide you or did you just have to read everything? Please answer ❤

I’m taking the self paced course with AAPC now and you need to read the book. The videos have just been them reading the book to you with graphics. I’m currently half way through the med term and anatomy course and haven’t made it to the cpt part yet but this is what I’ve experienced so far

It can be challenging, but it's also very rewarding in the end! You just have to keep at it and ask questions when you’re not sure about something. Coders are always learning it’s literally a journey. ☺️
