Your mom could totally hire you as the office business manager. You would be responsible for the maintenance of the office, ordering supplies, scheduling the employees (if there are different scheduled), supervise the receptionist, keeping the books (potentially), doing the insurance work, etc.

Appreciation for the daily devotion to God and including it in your videos. You don't see many (if any) content creators follow Christianity. Props to both of your parents being so supportive of you and caring so much for you and AJ to live a comfortable life. I wish more parents would be this way.

Hey, I work as a medical receptionist in a Neurology Office. Insurance can be tough to learn, but it takes patience to learn all the information.

I worked as a medical receptionist for years. It is a busy job! We had a blurb on the bottom of our insurance form saying if insurance doesn't cover the full cost then they are responsible. I would make sure they understood their insurance coverage and that it was a courtesy for us to check but it's always a good idea for the patient to double check and know their coverage. Sometimes we aren't given accurate information either. I would have them sign those forms and keep them on file. That way your mom isn't working for free when insurance doesn't pay. :)
@Lasvegas9802

I totally agree on this. People need to understand that medical is a business and need to get paid for themselves and their employees. So the form you mention is very essential for any medical provider.

So many people think that I'd they have insurance everything is free and I spend 60% of my time talking with patients at check in explaining, no you have a $10, $15, whatever copay and X amount towards this and they're so shocked. I don't get how grown adults can be so oblivious especially about a service they're literally paying for.

Health insurance can be such a pain. Patients have to pay so much! Even with coverage. Having to explain to the patient that they are responsible for the deductible is tough. They think it’s me, the receptionist, coming up with these fees.

I’m going through this right now and sometimes I feel accomplished but others not do much :( I work as an MA but I’m not certified so I’ve been getting trained on the job. There’s so much going on especially with the administrative part of it since I do a bit of everything including patient care, labs, checkin, insurances, etc. Theres another MA that has been training me and she does much more than I do, but she also has a good amount of experience in the medical field. It’s been two months and I feel like I know nothing. I’m hoping that in a few more months it gets better and easier and I just feel more confident. Working at a medical practice is new to me and nerve wrecking because “what if I make a mistake that could cost the doctor a ton of money” or legal problems? 🥴

Girrrrrl... Your insurance rant. Spot on. I'm a speech therapist (haven't officially started my job but have learned in my internships) and insurance is ridiculous. It determines the amount of time therapists can see patients. You bill differently depending on what you do in the appointment. On a personal note, I'm switching from my dad's insurance this year. I haven't even looked at my benefits package yet and I'm already intimidated 🙃

In my country, Algeria🇩🇿🇩🇿, it's not easy to become a medical assistant. You must pass the baccalaureate exam and get a good marks . Then they choose you according to the order of the grade, whether you can enter the paramedical institute or not, in addition to a three-year training at the institute and a hospital . At the end of your studies, you will prepare your dissertation then you will get your job

I completely agree with your rant!!! Insurance is so garbage. Insurance companies are just a middle man who have agreements with the government so they upcharge to all get out. My husband and I recently switched to a direct primary care office. Basically we directly pay the office $120 per month and we can schedule as many appointments as we need. They are not all encompassing but they do a lot of routine stuff and even have an urgent care. There’s absolutely no insurance involved. It’s kind of like a subscription service for the doctor. It’s actually how medical care used to work, a town would have a doctor that everyone would see and pay directly. Insurance came along and ruined everything

I can imagine insurance in a Dermatology office being more frustrating, as a lot of derm procedures are considered ‘elective’. I feel like insurance companies would take advantage of that, leaving billing for medically necessary procedures a nightmare.

Hi and I just came upon your channel. I work for an insurance company so that your in the medical field, that got my interest. And, when u mentioned insurance companies and so many plans. That’s so spot on, it’s a lot to figure out. But, as someone here mentioned. Have all of your patients sign the form that , “if insurance does not approve and pay for services, the patient is responsible to pay”. Especially, if they accept and have the treatments done. It’s only fair. And, I do understand the patient can be upset if plan won’t cover a service. It’s a lot to cover and change and make fair for all. Well, anyways great channel, thank you.

I'm in Canada as a medical receptionist as well. Insurance here is different, we can bill through our portal on the computer, and it will either tell us that we ARE getting paid from them OR they say the patient has to pay and then will get reimbursed by the insurance company directly, OR the patient is just not covered for this service and has to pay anyway. If there is any discrepancy, the patient pays us and then takes it up with their insurance company. Also my Coworker is named Angela too 😂

I am from Brazil, minding the health care is for free and you also can have your own “private” health insurance, when I moved to the US my biggest fear was to be involved in some sort of accident or get really sick and have to pay/be in debt because of the medical bills are beyond expensive. I 100% think that the health system in the US could change, along with other things, but to be honest I don’t think society is “ready” and the government takes advantage of it - unfortunately

I love your you tube channel! I’m probably twice your age but i so appreciate you speaking of church, sharing scripture and your faith. I love your monthly budget video-it helps me focus on living within a budget-i do not do a good job with budgeting. I enjoy work days and products review. I am a nurse and insurance is a real pain. I feel so bad for the elderly who get sucked into those managed care plans which are often difficult to get a patient’s care approved. The only thing is struggle with is like soliciting sponsorships. I struggle to be a good steward financially and it is difficult for me to resist a item i find interesting especially if there is a coupon to entice a purchase. I admit this is my own weakness but i often have to skip forward or stop watching all the videos out there with codes to entice viewers to purchase. I don’t want to be critical or offensive-I am admitting my own weakness.

But, in the mean time we were gladden to hear of her struggles because we are so upset with her and her treatment. But your devotional just reminded me that God will make a way for us. Better doors are going to open. I know it. Anyways, thanks so much for sharing the word. It helped me ❤ God is good. 👍 Also, i have zero experience in this field but theres a job opening that has training, is there anything i could familiarize myself with in the mean time? Anything would be so appreciated as i will have to be the provider for a while so i cant fail. Please and thank you for any tips and tricks or programs i could familiarize with. ❤

💚biggest thing about insurances is literacy. Not everyone is going to understand what they are reading but that doesn't mean people can't make the time to do so. It's insurance, something people should understand that they will pay for the rest of their life so they should look into other options or have planners do that for them. Cash is everyones favorite asset and our lord and savior does not want us to convince ourselves we are less to understand the world we live in. God is about grace but also reality and there are problems every where in every place. But we can find ways to make it easier on ourselves. It's great to see you working in the financial side of the medical industry so you can learn more there because biggest thing about medical industry is the book keeping of invoices. Hope to see the knowledge you gain from this because I want to know more about medical insurance.
