When you're certified you're marketable and will have a range of medical facilities to work in. Wishing you happy learning!

I have the Hoka Gaviota 3’s! I’ve had them for maybe just under 2 years and love them! I’m a student pharmacist in my final year on clinical rotations so I spend about 9-10 hours walking all over the hospitals and the when I’m in the outpatient pharmacies I stand literally for like 7 hours at a time and they’ve definitely been comfortable the entire time! Definitely worth the hype in my opinion. I bought mine from Dicks Sporting Goods and the store had like every single model there so I spent about an hour trying on/walking in all of the models to see which model worked best for me! My other healthcare friends also like the brands On Cloud or Brooks! Highly recommended being able to try on the different shoes/brands so you can get a feel for them before purchasing!

Ok in my state and a couple of other states I lived in, you cannot work as an MA without graduating from accredited college and completing your externship. All the jobs I applied to before needed proof of your MA diploma along with proof of the accredited college that you attended, and your completion of an externship. There was only one state that I lived in that hired people who weren’t MA’s and trained them to take vitals etc. My previous clinic couldn’t find MA’s so they started to hired CNA’s to help room patients, but that was the only thing the CNA’s can do. They were not allowed to do vaccines, lab work etc. MA’s are really in high demand. My advice is that if you want to be a MA, go to school for it. Even if you are allowed to work in a state that doesn’t require you to have the schooling for it, you may not be able to work or get a job as a MA in another state that needs the required documentations. All except one clinic I’ve worked at would not take the risk of just hiring and training someone who was not an MA to become an MA to work in the clinic.

Examples are biopsies, light therapy treatments, procedures, injections, injection training / education for pts, acting as a scribe for the provider, gathering patient information. You get paid more being a Certified Medical Assistant as well as a better job title if the job offers it “Dermatology technician” Good luck to you! (Just a little bit on cerification or need for one)In regards to certification for MA's. It is state by state regulated and depending on the field/clinic. NCMA - Nationally Certified Medical Assistant is one of your possible certification available. Most big clinic/hospitals prefer certified. CMA- Certified Medical Assistant is also available plus others I'm sure. Being in the medical field is great, it can be very helpful if you get some basic understanding of the in's and out's of terminology and disease processes to help you in basic patient care. I liked the POV vlog, very interesting to see, thank you for sharing!

Hey Rachel, I work in Physical Therapy and I own some Hoka One Ones Clifton 7s & I'd probs pass on them. Only because I've found them to be very uncomfortable as they have a high arch in them and make my feet sore. My new balance are waay more comfy and I wear those more often. I've also recently learned to look specifically for 'walking' shoes as they tend to be lighter. 'Running' shoes are just designed for exactly that.

I love the thumbnails they remind me "Ugh Rachel, how can anyone stay mad at that face?" So adorable lol. This was my favorite video out of the whole month because of the facts and basic Economics on the Micro level presented. The medical assistants being in high Demand means there is a shortage of labor within the medical service. That means employers will pay more for those who are willing to sacrifice their time to provide for society in the medical industry. Not only that Rachel, but services of all industries are the future of employment. Their demand will shift rightward for the next decade for all different careers that people want to pursue. Medical is one of the top dogs on that list, and within recessions, they will always be operating during economic downturn. Very educational and applying what we learned in school lol, we love you Rachel...no I love you on a Godly level❤so keep that chin up. Winter is here and I stay warm by seeing these thumbnails 🌟.

Is it normal to feel overwhelmed when you first start? Idk what a lot of the medical acronyms means, and drawing blood I'm worried about because I don't want to accidently miss the vein a lot, or put an air bubble in a vein. Or how will I even know if I go through the vein completely?! Idk anything about any medications. I'm so nervous.
@denissemedina4619 Жыл бұрын
I feel the same way. I started at this new job two months ago with very little experience as an MA. My previous job was in clinical research so it was very different, so most of what I’m learning is new. I did draw blood before but I’ve gotten way better now. Trust that with practice it’ll get easier. We all learn at a different pace and you just have to be patient with yourself. The more you do something the easier it gets. The doc I work with has two practices but we do each on separate days. It’s a lot of paper work and little administrative details that I’m still struggling with because, even though we do not have that crazy amount of patients, each do require a good amount of paperwork and payments at least coming from the cosmetic side of it. I know I’ll get better with time, besides there’s only two MAs in the practice and one aesthetician 😅 Just trust the process and ask questions, write everything down so you don’t get as confused and have something to rely on when you don’t know what to do. Good luck!

Any recommendations for someone who's already certified but hasn't been in the field for a while? I ended up quitting my first and only MA job a year and a half ago, then going back to school, then quitting that and now I want to go back, I'm just not sure how hirable I'm gonna be after being out for so long.
