Hi, I'm a second year UofT undergrad at St. George. I think I saw you one day on campus haha! I have some questions for you guys: #1, I'm trying to apply to med school as well, but my main problem is my GPA isn't that high (around 3.2 now), can I take a gap year and apply to it? #2, I'm also thinking about Western Ontario med school, they only look at my 3rd and 4th year grade right (Or the best two year)?

Hi Austin, taking a gap year would unfortunately not do anything to improve your GPA. In your situation, we would recommend looking into ways to improve your GPA as it is a major component of the med school application process. That would mean taking additional courses and looking into extra years of schooling, in combination with improving the other aspects of your application (mainly extracurriculars and Casper). That is if you wish to stay in Canada for medical school. As for your other question, Western looks at your best 2 years for your GPA.
