I was an MP and a cop and it always baffled me why MPs are treated like children. Never ever as a cop did the sergeant or watch commander check to make sure we had a note book, cuff keys etc. And why carry a gun that isn't ready to fire. Both my primary and backup gun always had a round chambered and the mag top off. Its immensely dangerous not to have it in a state where you cant fire it without having to chamber a round

Most PL I have served under have been great and an example for fellow soldiers. I only had one LT cause himself to get kicked out of our unit. One time we went to the field for 30 days. At day 26. Our LT told us to pack up and he decided we were done in the field. As the last pallet is almost on the trailer. Our battalion commander shows up. “ What the fuck is going on?” The LT and the LTC argues for 10 mins. The LTC leaves and yells “ Stupid fuck piece of shit baby!” Lol. The LT then tells my platoon sgt. To unpack the whole site and we had to stay a few more days. At that moment I swear you could hear a pin drop. My unit circled the LT. Platoon Sgt yells “ Fuck this shit. I refuse to do it!” LT orders the platoon sgt to do it. Next thing the platoon sgt yells. “ Fuck you motherfucker! Were you in Vietnam?” We slept in shelter halves for 3 days. This was in 1993. It was my first time In the field as an E2. Lol

The military is a game of chance, ass kissing and being a PT stud. LT wakes up, Soldiers tell a groggy 31A he must've passed out, but thankfully absolutely nothing happened on patrol, the gates or at the desk. And thanks for volunteering for MED training, LT. For The Troops; yes, MPs are often hated and garrison duty can be dangerous; be careful 31A/Bs! Thanks for the video, LT. All kidding aside, blessings and be safe. And maybe one just possibly overlooked a shift carrying 'hot' (no time to draw, rack and change condition in a fast, evolving, life threatening, potential use of force 'keep the peace' moment). And, a time when we actually wore nice, shiny metal PMO, Military Police, badges. A former MP.

Yes, Listen to your Drills and only do what they say to do. Listen and execute, when you finish training and become a Soldier. Save your money and don't spend it on things you don't need. When you get to your unit just be quiet and learn as much as possible. If you see a 1SG Ventura thats my old PSG. And if you see a SGT Fox (Drill) that was one of my SLs. Goodluck you got this

I spent more than half my career as a platoon Sgt. Never did I accept my Platoon Leader briefing MY squad leaders. I got my briefing from the Platoon Leader and I briefed my people. The Platoon Leader was free to go sit in his ass somewhere until I back briefed how the day went.

The PSG isn't supposed to just sit/stand there. PSG is an advisor to the PL, but not the PL. I suppose it depends on the unit how involved a PL is. Some can operate without a PL. It's a PSG show nonetheless, but the PL takes responsibility for it. I can see if you want to streamline the process, but you might be teaching bad habits...

As important as the PSG is. The PL is the boss. That is definitely something a PSG/PL can discuss but the PL does have the final say. Just how the army is unfortunately.

Judt so you know every post is different for how the shifts are ran. At hood we had days 08-16, swings 16 - 00, mids 00 - 08. In germany when i was in mpi the patrols were only a platoon and did 12s

Counseling and if they don’t complete the 100 push-ups on a certain, prescribed date then they’re executed for disobeying a lawful order.
