Hey Dr. Hills thanks for this! I'm actually considering a pain management fellowship myself, and just getting the "a day in the life" exposure was helpful. Thanks for all you do!

I had a work related injury in my hip 10 years ago and a pain management doc really helped alleviated the pain via injection and advising on some exercises. I came in his office barely getting out of the car and afterwards being able to again. Thanks for what you do!

I noticed the DO on the name plate. How often do you use OMT for tx? Also, is anesthesiology the only/main specialty to be considered for Pain Management Fellowship? thanks

Injections for pain very lucrative indeed but their effectiveness is doubtful to say the least. Tell me what are your opinions regarding the use of opiods to ease suffering caused by severe pain? After all opiods seemed to have worked well for hundreds of years.

I'm in constant chronic pain from broken metal and shrapnel stuck in my spine. Was on opioids for 14 years and always used them as directed and my life was normal..since this opioid epidemic bs my doctor literally just took my meds away and no doctor will write a script for them anymore...I'm being punished for the actions of criminals. Everyday is a god damn struggle and I can't even get out of bed for more than 2 hours without having to lie down because I'm in agony. It's to the point I'm ready to die and I'm only 30...I've never spoken of my situation but felt the need to randomly vent. Everyday is nothing but 10/10 physical pain. I've spent 3 years searching for any alternative to help and am not lying when I say I've tried every over the counter medicine or eastern medicine there is with no luck. The only thing that dulled my pain and made my life normal was fentanyl...but again, because of people abusing it illegally now nobody can get it..even legitimate pain patients who got it from a doctor and never once abused it. I'm at my wits end and have no idea what to do..all I know is I can't keep living in this constant pain.

I whole heartedly feel for you. This situation is way out of hand. I just 4 days ago went thru a sizable cut, 3cm down and 4 and half inches acrossed. To remove precancerous mole. I'm still in horrific pain. Crying constantly. Leaving numerous messages to my Dr. With not even a response back. What dear god, are we the people that don't or ever even abused a drug in our life?!! This is terrible, and I would definitely say a crisis for many in ours and many others in different medical situations. It's not even conducive or helpful to our healing. And I will add medically ethical!!

Hey Man I totally agree with you,because I mysef suffer from neuropathy pain,nearly bedridden,but I am 68,not 30!so i wish you to gather enough courage and all forces to cope with your terrible ordeal. Now,there is possibilities to get fentanyl patches in other countries,or through the net. You can't let yourself like this.Willpower is necessary for you to obtain fentanyl in a relatively short time . Do your best,and you will succeed in your quest for relief . Let me know in a while if you found a "source" for your medication,I wish you success!😊

How are you doing now? I have a pretty fucked spine and some failed surgery on said spine, general practitioners are better if you need opioid treatment, most pain management facilities are too tight about it, which is like the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen..

@@greg9069 still constantly hurting and still using legal less effective things like kratom,cannabis,and alcohol. I was in pain management on opioids with 0 issues for ten years. @@greg9069 Hi greg,i just saw that these comments were years old,only yours was 45 minutes ago! It seems that is difficult to get pain medecine,especially in usa. I am suffering with right leg paralysis,following a gangrene treatement which kill my sciatic nerves and adding to that,neuropathy,diverse addiction to opiates and opioïds,and at 69,it seems that the pain is harder to manage... I cold turkey 43 days ago for all my addictions,I am NOT out yet,and ,of course,my pains are back full throttle!!! Fu*king hard life,if I you agree with me,but we are WARRIORS!and still there! Does Anesthesia pain docs get to do everything you do as a Pm&R pain doc? Are there any difference in terms of scope of practice?
@zainsatti49613 жыл бұрын
They’re identical. Anesthesiologists just have an easier time matching Bc pain fellowship departments are usually affiliated with a anesthesiology dept
@Muskiehunter48413 жыл бұрын
PMR is initially better at physical exam and anesthesiologists initially are better at procedures. Over time, what make s a good pain doc is that they care and strive to continue to learn better treatments.

I will not survive another surgery because my wbcc is 1.5 this what my surgeon told me and it is true i do very well taking methadone for pain and the pain of acid i must clean up.multiple times in 24 hours lam in cirrhosis Stage3 cirrhosis will live for years if I can take about 40 mg of a day I get severe tachycardia withdrawing from methadone even taking morphine and other opoids. No way will I survive another doctor that try's to take me off methadone. In 1980 I was crushed and had a colostomy for 3 years. I know great deal about colostomy I have been resection 6 times for I don't have constipation. But thats because my colostomy starts about a foot into my coline I am sick of the games some pm.dr play I have good pain control and my body is physical dependent on methadone I don't suffer depression nor anxiety. I have no desire to Die I have faimly support I live in a house that needs work but is comfortable. I Don't need saving but am a Christian. Why do some doctors act like jerk and rather use up my precious time I have left to live just to try to get me off methadone
