Tall Bob may be interested to investigate the drug Etanercept! It is injected into the spine (perispinal etanercept) and the patient is tipped backwards to encourage the drug to enter the brain. It is being used for stroke patients and there are trials of the drug for the purpose of helping stroke patients and there has been some miraculous results. The drug is also a possible treatment in people with Long Covid. I wonder if it would Bobs ataxia. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5-opYRjjN2el9U

Hey I don't see any replies to anyone's questions, but I'll ask anyway. I am 43 and was hit by a car as a little kid which I believe that it did irreparable damage. I live with constant back pain and my lower back/pelvis feel locked up. I am starting to see limited mobility and struggle even putting on socks. Any advice on what I can do to help?

I'm so glad you two are still filming! Showing that aphasia doesn't mean you withdraw from society is a powerful message and Bob, you will literally change some people's lives or maybe even save them. I'm not exaggerating. Your mind is full of knowledge to share and we're here for it!

I agree. It's sad they have to put that message at the beginning. I had a brain tumor removed and had aphasia. They basically removed me from a lot of my duties (I was in training for the management position) even though my brain was working just fine. I just couldn't get words out unless I wrote them and it was temporary as I healed. I would get in trouble for emailing and cc'ing people instead of talking directly to them. Unfortunately I live in an at will state so it's not illegal.

Hi i'm a one time athlete and now blue collar physical worker. Complexities have stripped me a chance at Healthcare. There are many like me. What you are doing is a blessing beyond words. You and other channels like yours have brought me to tears through relieving stretches that I could not afford to get directed at me traditionally. Thank you again, though there is no way you can ever truly understand how much suffering in even just my little life you have alleviated. Health is wealth. All Gods Blessings to you and yours.

Bob I hope you see this. I have spastic CP (wheelchair, AFOs, loftstrands, the whole bit). Your videos have helped me so much, because not a day goes by where I'm not trying to stretch, strengthen, get something to release, etc. It never ends. One thing I know after my 40+ years on this planet as a disabled person is that all branches of medicine are pretty darn ableist, and medicine-- especially the rehab disciplines benefit so much from the presence of disabled providers. The best SLP and the best OT I know both have CP as well. They understand disability and rehab with an entirely different depth. We need you and your expertise here. I think your dx is new. It's a gutpunch-- I'm no Pollyanna. But I hope you keep doing videos and sharing your wisdom and expertise with us and with your patients. We need you in the rehab space so badly.

Because you were so open with your personal struggles, I knew immediately that it was the gluten I had consumed that was causing me to wake up dizzy and having to hold furniture and doorways for support to keep balanced. I have long known that gluten was giving me many issues but this was new. That last time I ever poisoned myself with gluten was the last day of May, 2022, right after you shared what what was going on with you. My ataxia went away and I'm okay today with balance and walking at 50 yrs old thanks to you. Great info! I injured my sacroiliac lifting a motorcycle over a year ago. After physical therapy and visits to a chiropractor, it got back in shape and it seemed taking daily walks was the biggest help. Definitely looking to try a coupes of these for maintenance. Thanks guys and keep on keeping on, Bob!

You two are my go -to both for self diagnosis and self-treatment. today not sure my issue is my SI joint, but sure sounds like it from the description of where the pain manifests. Your first test (on an another session) does tend to point that way. But I just can't pop it or move it or make walking comfortable. I will try again tomorrow (I know, if it hurts don't do it). Thanks

My first comment here but I've been helped by so many of your videos and have recommended them to everyone I know. Was just looking for another solution when I saw the news about Bob's ataxia. I got emotional, knowing how it feels to "come out" about a medical condition, and can't imagine doing it for the whole Internet. I'm so happy to see you both filming and continuing to share your knowledge, love and light with the world. Thank you for all you do, sending big, virtual hugs from Spain 💖

Bob. Thanks for keep on making these videos. It helps me with pain in my body, and the fact that you don't talk so fast makes it easier to understand because English is only my second language. And this will help so many others with speaking difficulties because you are normalising it. I am sorry you have to tell us to be polite, and that you are just as smart as before.. It should be needles to say.

Thank you so so so much for this video. I watched it just before I went to sleep last night and thought I would try the first movement more to humour you than anything else as I have suffered with SI joint pain for many years. I have even been to a rehab facility for 2wks to try and sort it. Last night I slept for the first time in years without being woken up with searing pain in my hip and lower back, and I have woken up this morning pain free!! I cannot thank you enough. Please please, keep doing what you are doing!! And thank you again. I am so grateful. ❤

These two gems have taught me so much! Although unrelated to the general topic of videos, I'd welcome the opportunity to learn more about Bob's condition (if he's willing to share.) I know so many people are just busy bodies and some throw the pity cards out, but I mean this to be genuine. The more people know and can understand, the more compassion we can build in this world :) Keep on shining 🌟

While I’ve watched a number of your videos, I’m often then forwarding to others whom I know would benefit from them. Today this video struck a chord and I thought that I may just learn what this nagging pain is. And I do believe after trying these stretches and having measurable immediate relief, I now know what causes my pain. I had a very marked Pop when I messed this up, and while I didn’t hear a pop tonight, as you say, relief is enough! And I’ll keep an open mind to a pop in my future yet. I am so relieved and thrilled, I can’t thank you enough. Gentlemen, you are fantastic teachers and role models. I wish you continued success.

Amazing to see a nervous system at play. Bob is clearly incredibly intelligent and the neural activity is palpably there in presence while the relay system has its delays. It’s so amazing to see the lived experience. Thanks for your dedication to the art of physiology.

This is precisely what I needed today. I have severe scoliosis, and my pelvis is "askew" because of it. I can simply walk and turn left at the same time and feel instant pain. It happened at work the other day and took about six hours to right itself. Now I know what techniques to use to help. Thanks!

Glad to see you Bob, your knowledge is so valuable. We missed you! I had an SI joint out of whack, and for over a year of doctor's appointments no one could figure out what was wrong. I ended up in physical therapy where the therapist used the "broomstick" method. It worked perfectly. I still have occasional problems and will try the other methods you showed us. Thank you both for all you do!
