I love videos. I have applied to peace corps thailand myself. I applied to be youth in development. Hopefully if all works out i would leave this coming Janurary. This will be my first time out of country and into something new. What is your sector? How is your expeirence and what advice would you give someone who has never done this before.

Thank you for watching! You will make it to Thailand don’t worry. I’m in Youth and Development which focuses on life skill application over English Learning but we intertwine both.If I had to give any advice it would be don’t self-sabotage. Know that if they selected you to come, you have everything it takes to be an amazing volunteer. This will be unlike anything you ever experienced so don’t waste your time worrying about if you can manage from where you are now. You won’t be able to find that out until you get there, and by the way, most of the volunteers in my cohort were able too.

@@lotothemax Nice. I'm jealous. I'm in Armenia (which is in a military conflict with Azerbaijan) so absolutely no drones allowed. A bummer too because there is some beautiful countryside and historical places here.

PS I served in Thailand 2014-17 as an Education PCV too. Loved it so much I extended a third year. I was in NE Thailand in Chaiyaphum. I really miss it. Hope to go back after my 2 years in Armenia. :)

They are! Yes my organization sent me to this community. Prior to this I was trained with a specific set of skills to bring to each school that I teach at. I plan on making a video about this soon too! Thank you for caring enough to ask🙇🏾

Do you have to speak Thai to teach the class and also are you on a work visa?

I speak Thai with them as well, and I have a Peace Corps Multi Entry visa. It’s different and federal government approved.
