The Post Office need more Postal Inspectors. I think people who have years in the Post Office would be great candidates to become Postal Inspectors regardless of age or education ONLY because they know the ins and outs of the Postal Service. The Postal inspectors did nothing whatsoever to arrest the thieves working at the Oakland Post office who have repeatedly stolen my silver coins. When they say they are arresting thieves it seems they mean as long as the thief is not a US postal worker. And they have also made themselves exempt from lawsuits from their repeated thefts.

Internal theft by employees isn't handled by the U S Postal Inspection Service. That's the USPS-OIG that supposedly does that. Those folks are not Postal Inspectors and Inspectors sure don't like to be mistaken for an OIG agent.

the USPIS just sent out a memo regarding citizens taking video in and around post offices. instead of trying to help employees understand that there is absolutely nothing wrong or illegal in taking these videos, the memo immediately casts these videographers as troublemakers by saying "these videos...attempt to capture our employees in argumentative situations, which casts the postal service in a negative light". as someone who has watched dozens if not hundreds of these citizen videos, i can say for certain that this is a lie. it is, almost invariably, the employees of the post office who start any arguments through their ignorance of the constitution. they are consistently uninformed regarding the law, and quite regularly take adversarial, aggressive, and argumentative positions toward these citizens exercising their legal constitutional rights. THEY create the bad situation. and instead of calling them for their ignorance of the law and constitution, and their illegal and terrible behavior, you have further exacerbated the situation by doubling down on the idiotic idea that this is "us versus them", and that regular citizens exercising their rights are somehow the enemy. instead of asking for the cooperation and common decency that should be expected from public employees, you suggest "telling your supervisor" if you see anyone taking video, and you even tell them "don't answer their questions". why? it is their job to answer questions from citizens! THIS IS LEGAL, PROTECTED ACTIVITY. you've taken what could have been a great opportunity to correct an ongoing government embarrassment and bring some peace and understanding, and turned it into an escalation of some perceived battle or war. very bad job, u.s. government.
