Leetcode stuff is used in interviews though… like you rarely see it in your work, it’s just used to gauge your knowledge of algs/data sturcts and your ability to solve a problem. I think it’d be much harder if they asked you to debug a few lines of code without knowing the documentation unless it’s something small like a spelling error

@@sslvsme5763 I think that they're more so saying that people will learn better in terms of being under someone within that company. I can understand and relate because while I am good at studying/doing tests, a leetcode does not gauge what people are in terms of real-world problem solving. They're mock tests that have no relations to GENUINE real world work. Like leetcodes will test you on building something that is already built on. Most people don't do that, they work on things that are already made or if they do work on something fresh then leetcodes will not help on that compared to being under someone to teach you the way. It's also an unfair assessment since it ignores practical experience. Someone can be good at their job but do poor under stress of taking a test in front of someone. Some may say "well maybe this job isn't for you," that's just ignorant since that application can be applied for everything. Imagine a surgeon needs to watched over their shoulder and they're required to do something, instead of just shadowing someone to show you how to do it and then asking you to show an example (but it doesn't mean it'll make them fired if they mess up in some way). Also leetcoding is so pointless... Everyone knows that people study and practice leetcoding just to pass and never need it again other than big tech companies (which even they admitted it's pointless too).

The work in Tech is relentless so for all who want to join you can do but be prepared for burn out in 5 years - mental burnout! What this dude did not show is the meetings and more meetings, demos to CTO's , Demos to CEO's and key global stakeholders, internal client meetings to define a feature if not understood properly and so on .....and endless process of input , process, response. Then it all starts again on Monday meetings in airports if urgent and calls and keeping reviews progressing and checking failures etc etc etc.... it looks cool, pay is great but you have to have a reason to do it if you dont LOVE coding you will never make it.

I enjoy Go development the most out of any other technology/community that I've worked with. If you are working in a large-scale backend system, I would recommend learning Go, you will likely encounter it in industry. As far as comparisons with NodeJS, I don't really have much valuable insight to offer. thanks man
