Yeah, I recommend getting an iPad. It seems like you wouldn’t be able to focus properly, but I’ve had no problems using my iPad for school for over a year now. You have to buy a case that comes with a keyboard, which can be a little pricey (around £32). However, super versatile and not particularly chunky like some laptops can be. The only issue I have with it is sometimes things that really rely on PCs or high level laptops don’t work, eg MuseScore.

Hello, I was struggling to work out where KCS actually was these days. Obviously a couple of years ago Student Life would have been somewhat different! Most of Kings was down on the Strand, with accomodation in the Maxwell Buildings down on the South Bank. Stratford was a mix of marshland and Great Eastern Railway Works and some canalside warehousing, that changed with the arrival of the 2012 olympics and the new campuses were part of the post-events planning. The only ? university in Stratford had been University Of East London down Romford Road ( which had been one of the former science/ technical colleges dating back to the early 1900s ), I am not sure what they thought when King's Arrived on their patch (jumping over Queen Mary at Mile End for good measure!). While my degree was done at what is now London Guildhall University, and I joined at the time Computers were moving from a building on their own - with telephone lines into , toward the desktop PC kind of things, I had a fairly generalist 2nd year intro to some coding (fortran and basic) , a little bit of SPSS , some systems analysis using flow-chart diagrams and decision trees ( i was good at maths, less on actually seeing what the PROBLEM was). We had a few overseas students (Middle East, Malaysia and Poland) but London Guildhall taught a lot of short courses for the shipping, insurance, banking and insurance industries , plus a sociology department and was designed mainly as a university for local residents (funding had come from the likes of the John Cass Foundation for land and buildings), so official residences were not really planned like other universities around Britain, indeed most of the other students commuted in from home - Watford, Blackheath, Bromley, Eltham, Enfield Those from further away the college had temporary leases on flats due to be demolished in Wapping and Bromley-By-Bow but 3rd year students generally, if they intended staying in London got themselves private rented places , Highams Park and Hackney is where a few friends stayed. So I missed out on my own place as such with a tube commute from SW London. However my course had work placements so I had a half year in Cardiff, private bed-sit, with windows icing up inside in winter and a landlords gas meter that ate 50p coins by the mouthful. I then spent six months in Oxford living in a spare room on a farm, catching the 8:15 bus into oxford for work , doing some data analysis which nowadays I could do , from home, on a laptop, but it was the time out with others, from work, or college including the college societies that added to life out. My son choose not as such to do A levels etc, but did BTec at Newham College associated with a rail company and did a couple of years engineering bringing new eurostar stock into their stratford depot and travelling to their european suppliers. currently he is doing much the same with Hitachi at Old Oak for Great Western services, while he started more with physical nuts and bolts a lot of the modern trains are software controlled - including signal interfaces - and much of the time is re-programming updates and train operator feedback and training , as well as working out approrpriate service schedules as the trains move through their lifetime. I have been sheltering due to long term illness , and seem to be spending time watching (rather than creating) YT mainly on London, which I why I think your suggestion popped up, along with Matt Parkers maths channels and Tom Scott's computer ones, I think I am still trapped in the biege box era, installing PCs in mulit-nationals was boring for me, and knackered my knees.

As an HP X360 user (for more than a year) I could say 1. This lapdops overheat with the time, it does not make it stop running but its uncomfortable. 2. The are not that many apps for handwritten notes as in an ipad. (i could recommend Inkodo or Write) and 3. This shit is so fucking useful, i use it everyday for everything, is portable, fast, cute, the battery is ok, has a wide camera and the micro is good enough. It is not as expensive as apple products and I would recommend it for people in Latin America (Nuestra America, soy Colombiana c:) . Also: I have and AMD proccesor but has some problems with Windows, idk if Intel is better.

I have the Intel one, and it doesn't overheat as much. I have had many issues with AMD based laptops dying due to extreme temperatures in the past, so my last 3 computers have only been Intel-based, and none has died due to overheating (one died due to a broken ventilator thought, but after being dropped countless times and being 6+years, the other 2 are still cool). Try downloading an app that lets you check the temperature of the processor cores. Also, cleaning the computer with compressed air between every 3 to 9 months depending if you live in a humid/dusty/hot place vs. a cool or temperate place. We're like neighbors as I'm from Ecuador haha.

This video helps me to learn about your routine as a computer student in the university in the UK. Thanks for sharing so much! Also, I like the webcam kill switch on your laptop. I am a Chinese senior high student studying Cambridge IGCSE and I will go to a university in the UK in 2023 for computer major too. I seldom stay up late although I have too much school work because I always make my bedroom tidy so that I can study effectively. However, I use a MacBook Pro with an Intel chip because I may develop Mac and Windows apps at the same time. Apple also gives me convenience for transferring files and synchronising between my computers and iPhone.
