Im always that over cautious person. I have one eye aswell. Lost one at an early age due to retina cancer. I run heavy equipment with no issues the only setback Ive noticed is my depth perception is slightly impaired. I think it all depends on when you lose it. I lost mine when I was 2 or 3 so I hardly even remember it but if you lost it when your 2 eyed vision is already established (ie. when your in your 20's) im sure its alot harder. Im just thankful to have vision at all. My dad is totally blind from the same type of cancer.
@PlymouthVT
@PlymouthVT Жыл бұрын
@@ClutchTFS Thanks Riley. I lost my eye at around 2 also. I guess its easier than losing it as an adult I guess. Still sucks as we will never know what its like to have 2 eye vision. has not slowed me down though and I bet it has not slowed you down either. Check this out: I ended up getting a stroke in my eye from high blood pressure. I was very unaware I was getting very high blood pressure during high exertion events and that caused a eye stroke which is not uncommon at all. Met so many people this has happened to. if your in your late 50's or 60's please check your blood pressure at least twice a day and after a high exertion event like busting your ass on a job to get a BP baseline. I found a really good retinologist and have been on eye injections of vaston for about 9 months now. Will have to take injections for the rest of my life. I suspect you and me are at very high risk of an eye stroke as all the blood pressure to the optic nerve now goes to one eye only.Thought for sure I was going to go blind from it. Wish someone had warned me. All i can say is after a lifetime of one eye that sucked enough I am not going to live blind at the end of it. Thanks again nice talking to you!

Wish you the best, it was good talking, take care!

@@ClutchTFS Sorry bro I thought you were much older. You should be ok but like I said I suspect there's a blood flow issue that you and me have with only 1 eye so try to mitigate any super power lifts. But next time your at the eye doctor tell him my story and you'll hear alot of his story's none of them good for us mono vision dudes. And he will than take out a little prism to look at the back of your retina. A regular ophthalmic exam does not see the back of the eye. The Retina. That takes special scanning equipment. All you have to do at the doctor visit is say I have floaters and they will take you down the hall to the Retina Dept to look at your eye. Keep an eye on that over the years...sure wish someone had warned me. Nice talking to you and Take care !

Don't worry, you studied engineering to learn the theory and to train yourself to be a critical thinker. Now that you finished your study, you have to learn again the real world application of the theory you studied and its not that hard if you used to be self learner. Learning from the basic is the best way to grow your knowledge.

Dude.... don't it for the money, do it because you enjoy it. The reason why people loves Skill trades is because they're here to do it for the money and finding shortcuts which is a mindset of a Loser. Even if you have high pay salary, you still gonna have financial problems in your life, especially if you become rich! And I'm saying this cuz many of my Latino friends from the church, are always in skill trades making BILLIONS in a year and they always had so much family issues and financial issues going on in their lives! Therefore, there is no right or wrong for taking college or skill trades.

To the people wondering about becoming an electrician. Go to school for it, esepecially if you want to really know what youre doing out on the field. Apprentices are only installers. Journeyman is where you want to be but you need to understand magnetism, induction, a bit of trigonometry, how to find the correct AWG, power factor correction and ALOT more. As a journeyman not only are you in a position of leadership, you are the go to person for answers at a job site. if an apprentice comes up to ask you how electricity works you have to be able to explain in simplicity how it works. Voltage is a force that comes from your source Amps is the flow of current Ohms is your resistance within the circuit Watts is your power (there is also true power) be able to explain the difference between a parallel circuit, series circuit, and combination circuit and how to troubleshoot each one. understand that the sum of all voltage drops is equal to my total voltage in a series circuit (ohms law). There is alot more to it. school is the only real way to become a confident electrician. Anyone can install stuff but can you do the brain work to figure out what went wrong?? GO TO SCHOOL.

The pay is pretty good, it all depends on the output that you give to be honest. If you finished your trade school found your first job and you’re boss didn’t like your output you’ll be the sweeper of the group but if you’re hardworking, clean and professional you’ll most probably be making 80 grand per year and you never know you could even launch your own business where you could make 6 figure income ! And the end it really depends on you.

I hope this note is read. I need some serious advice. I moved to Ontario from Dubai and am 39 years old. I have an MBA in marketing and some solid international experience but the industry is changing and it's not a coveted line of work that it once was for me, plus not easy cracking to Toronto market. So... Thinking of going to school and train to become an electrician, it's the only trade that appeals to me along with landscaping. Anyone have any advice for me or am I just going down the wrong path given my age and experience in a different industry. I really need some good advice from relevant people out there.

Elvan Rehman I’m in class right now to be an electrician, and in my class of 28 people, there’s 30 year olds, 20 year olds, even a guy in his 40’s. It’s never too late! You can start as an apprentice and work your way up or go to school for about 9 months to maybe a year and a half I’m not sure. My program is nine months

@@hobbsgaming4043 Hey, wow ok that's great news! I'm going to reach out to an institution in Toronto now. I think I'm going to enjoy this as opposed to the corporate rat race I've been in.

Hey man I'm in a similar boat. 24, just graduated with a degree in finance from a university here in Toronto. Did a corporate job internship a few years back.. don't really see myself going back to that life. Now looking to pivot into the trades myself I get that you're older with more education and work experience, so switching might be tougher for you than it is for someone like me. But it's refreshing to see that I'm not the only business grad looking to switch Anyway man good luck, stay in touch, maybe we can do this together (I'm also based in Toronto)

Hell no. Go to a community college and spend 1/8 of that. That's what I did, I started at 15 as a green apprentice and now I'm at 23 after 2 years. In another 2 years I'll be a journeyman and my compant starts journeyman at 32 per hour. I'm non-union btw.
