hey I know many ISFJs relate to this video, but as a ISFJ myself I wanted to say that not all ISFJs are like that, because even if I try to help people as much as I can it's just because I think it's the right thing to do and something that everyone should be doing, not because I actually "like" it. I just don't think saying ISFJs "like" helping all the time is the right term to explain how ISFJs feel, because most of the time (in my experience) we just agree because we don't want to say no, because we feel uncomfortable having to confront someone, especially if we are not close to them. I wanted to make this clear because I've been taken advantage of many times in my life, and I just wanted to make people realize that maybe we are not agreeing to help you because we actually want to, we are just because we're scared of having to say we don't.

also true! I like helping to see the good impact I am making. but I don't necessarily like the act itself and I definitly have a hard time saying no.

ISFJ here, too. In my opinion, there are two main factors that urge (yes, sometimes it's a real urgency lol) an ISFJ to help other people: the first one is the genuine and selfish pleasure of being felt useful by another person, having a practical purpose, or just receiving an external sign of approval. I can truly relate with the sheer satisfaction shown in the video after seing a big 'thank you!!!!' in a chat after successfully helping a pal. The second one I think it's not to be 'nice' but more 'not to be perceived as a jerk'. An ISFJ is OK if someone has an ok/neutral opinion on him/her. But definitely NOT OK if someone (heck, even the worst person on the planet) has an harsh opinion on him/her. We seriously take it as a personal defeat, even if it sounds ridiculous. So I think we don't focus on being 'nice' or 'good', but merely on not being perceived (by anyone) as a jerk. At the end of the day we should just be more selfish, and saying yes mostly when the first factor is involved (driven by selfish pleasure of helping) and not the second one (driven by the fear of being disliked). Easier said than done, duh :)

This is a true statement for sure. I do it because it is right and to avoid conflict. I'd rather just be curled up in bed and researching random things on the internet, honestly.
@rachelrecovery5577

You're correct. I do things because it is the right thing and people may not like it, but it's something I know I can do, so I offer my hand to do it. I didn't like that either. It's more of a "gut" urge to help because I know I can. It's not a "oh, I just like it" type of mechanic. It's definitely an inner sense telling me, "Help them. They need help." I could be feeling crappy or not have any money...but I will find a way to help them.

I think a lot of ISFJ vids aren't accurate but I relate to a lot of this! 'No you go ahead and have the last peice' LMAO very relatable. Making excuses for people being rude 'they must have had a bad day'. Making others around me feel comfortable, by like tidying or organising the space. And I love helping others but sometimes after VOLUNTEERING to help someone I regret it for a bit because I'm like damn I could have been doing nothing rn or watching a movie, but when they respond and are so thankful its so worth it!

OMG, that cycle of helping others because seeing them happy and knowing you did that makes you happy. 😅 The only thing that can brake the cycle is if the other person takes your efforts for granted because that hurts a lot. 🥺 Usually ISFJs leave their things aside so they can help someone else, so a small gesture of acknowledgement for their help like saying “Thank you!” from that person makes all the difference to ISFJs. 🙂

It took me a long time to accept that I'm ISFJ (as opposed to INFJ, which I relate to a lot) because I have highly developed personal boundaries and don't give as much as is often associated with my type. But when I look at it from the perspective of what motivates me, I'm definitely ISFJ. I have the advantage of not exhausting myself through too much giving, but the drawback is a frequent sense of guilt over that. What you hit spot-on for me was the mental monologue during the attempt to text a friend. YES - there's that concern about the person, the temptation to get resentful that they haven't reached out, the fear of making their day worse by bugging them. Watching the letters disappear as she decided against sending the text was VERY familiar! :D

ISFJ man here, and it's nice to recognize ourselves in others, in that way, it's so comforting. And remembering other people's favorite things, food, drink, movies, music and perfumes. It's so weird sometimes. And knowing how to distinguish, and caring about facial expressions, tones of voice, body language and even word patterns in a text message from others and being able to say, this one is sad today, what happened? Did I do something? Did anyone do something? Maybe someone died or lost something? And being happy to be able to help people is a gift, which unfortunately is often abused!. But I learned to say no, come back during business hours. And I also learned to ignore those who ignore me and today I managed to say f#ck the world. And the day is only mine today. And being able to make peace with it. And just be alone with my world, vast, sometimes peaceful, sometimes turbulent, but only mine. Thank you and take care.

You and your kind are my new favorite! Entp here. I want to not scare away my new friend, so I came to learn what not to do. This time it will be better. I wonder how many of you saintly types I've already blown out of the water.....
@JeisonCarbar
@JeisonCarbar 2 жыл бұрын
@@DesiRush1 Saintly? I hear this quite often, but it's always a nice surprise, ENTP and ISFJ, tend to get attract each others in the crowd (at least to me) lvery easily, because we're so different, sometimes the opposite of each other that we keep trying to understand each other and that's fascinating. And I know some ENTP. And if you're in need of help with your friend, you've come to the right place, ISFJ here. And i'm hero to help! I think I can say that the following two things are the most vital to not pushing an ISTP away from you. Respect his "introspection" and feed him "attention" from time to time. Everything else can be negotiated. Try to understand that his introspection, silence and distance from other people will hardly have anything to do with you, We ISFJs really need this, it's our way of recharging our batteries. It is where we rest, create and purify our minds. And we know that this bothers people a lot, they think we don't like them or we lose interest in them. And I know ENTPs that I met, needed the opposite, needed to see people, needed movement, and lots of colors. And you'll know he's pissed off, because we've suddenly turned cold, snappy, and sarcastic. If he gets like this, leave him alone or bring him food. If someone brings me pie, I snap out of my rage right away. My weak point! Find out which one is his. Attention, we like attention, and appreciation, not because we are needy, but because we think that attention is a sign of affection, even love. We put so much attention and good intentions into helping people and a little bit of attention and thanks sometimes does us a lot of good. And I will say.. People seen as ungrateful and abusive are often put on the grudge list and left behind forever. If you see him distant, and silent. Be silent too, accompany him in his silence a little. Or if he shows that he wants to be alone, offer to accompany him in his solitude, to listen to music, or to watch a movie. Or just leave him alone, when he's recharged, he'll look for you. For example. If he offers to help paint your house. Thank him, (Thanking is attention!) You don't have to do the same. Give thanks with food. If you can make it yourself, or bring him his favorite food, that would be even better. Because food tends to bring huge smiles to ISFJs, we associate it with affection, love, and reciprocity. And that, affection, love and attention are fascinating things for us. And we're very loyal, and if you do something good for an ISFJ, he'll never forget. And it will pay you back many times over. Note: Some ENTPs I met would always tell me that they saw me as too intimidating, tyrannical, controlling, or too dominant. But it was not my intention. This happens because of the slow speech, the calm, the silence and the observation. There comes a point when I knew so much about them, that I could predict what they were going to say or do, and they were scared. If that happen. talk to him, he will start to take care of that when it happens. But good luck!. ISFJs make great friends because of their loyalty, good listening ears, deep conversations, and the care they take for the well being of others. I wish you all the best of luck.

Also don’t know if it’s just me but it seems like every ISFJ favorite color is purple maybe it’s just in my race I’ve noticed that ISFJs and other mbti types look and dress different slightly in each race and culture norms. Alsp a lot of them like gossiping and they are really sensitive. On a positive note they are extremely confident they have a strong inner self. They are very much people pleasers. They go perfectly well with their ESFP golden pairs though.

I relate to much of this, but it stresses me out to think of all the planning that goes into this type of concern for others. I also often find it hard to say no and I worry if I've overstepped boundaries or that I'm just worrying about nothing. It's hard to take things at face value so that's where those feelings come from for me. I can see that ISFJ types have their worries stem from a different place. -ENFP

Oh my gosh....I could not live like this. It's so routined and ...practical, and perfectly laid out. I also now understand clearly how the world would fall apart without XSFJs ... 🌞💕 As an infj, I've played around with the idea of possible mistypings ...maybe I resonate with isfj, as I can easily recollect information and facts (but not past memory) And I am fiercely protective of my children ....and I show my love through actions, having my home clean and everything really comfortable is important to me. I want my people to be as comfortable as possible. So I go out of my way to create this...but...I just don't think I apply it in the same way you do. My motivation isnt Fe orientated and honestly i don't put a lot of effort into anyone outside of my daughters, not in the way you do. But I definitely am helpful to even strangers. ...hmmhmm Thanks for listening. What a beautiful type.

As an Infp with an Isfj mother, this video described my mom so much. Always kind and ready to help people. I love her a lot and love Isfj's so so much. She often helps me with my laziness and I do sometimes think she's annoying because she always tells me to get up and do stuff but at the end of day, I realized that she was just trying to help. She isn't scared to speak her mind while not hurting someone else's feelings. Always humble and good. As a man with a lot of feelings, she never told me how to deal with my feelings as a 'man'. Actually, she lets talk about how I feel and listens to me. That is why I love Isfj's. They do judge a lot but for good and what they think is right.

I’m so insecure if I’m really an ISFJ or if I’m just shy and insecure asf. I love to help people I care for, but somehow they’re all living miles away. I’m living with my mom and my brother and I often help my mom with little tasks, that my brother wouldn’t do, to keep the peace. Especially when it comes to my brother I quite often say no, because I know, that he wouldn’t do the same for me. Also sometimes I’d say no to my mom, when I’m having a bad day or when I just can’t bring myself to look out for other people than my own

Guys you might not know this but, this is kind of a superpower. Isfjs have acute memory whenever it comes to personal details about people. where these preferences may be obvious to you others have a hard time remembering exactly what they like and why they like it unless it's their children or spouse or best friend.

@@CatchyCravings Agreed! 😀 Also... Please research 'narcissitic personality disorder' (NPD) / 'cluster-B'; and know that they are the 'root of all evil' (especially 'ESFJ/ESTJ-narcissits'; Myers-Briggs reference, look it up)! European 'ESFJ' are the worst personality type, and they are responsible for inventing 'racism' and colonization! It is in their neuro-psychology!! The are extremely 'manipulative' and often use 'looking pretty' to distract others from the witch's mind-games / mind-rape, e.g. gaslighting, playing the victim or damsel in distress, creating 'flying-monkeys', and paying others to attack (or at times kill) someone for her. When caught, she will use her minions as scapegoats. European ESFJ are notorious for this especially in a racist context, e.g. Elliott Till. ISFP (and ESFP) are the most complicit, narcissitic-enablers. ISFP also tend to be 'oblivious-codependants' (look up the definition). SUMMARY: Evil personality: ESFJ, ESTJ [Secretly] Evil and narcissit-friendly gunts/flying-monkey: ISFP, ESFP. ☝️All of them are secretly emotionally-disturbed, hence their need to create conflict (and at other people's expense, truly evil). Spread the word! Thank you. ___________ #Save_Soil

Because online tests are almost 100 percent inaccurate. We cannot self analyze enough to not reach bias. The best thing you can do for yourself is to be professionally typed (if it's important to know) And learn to understand the complexity of the cognitive functions and Jung Theory. And yes. Yes. I am a dweeb. ...wait. not sure if I know the proper definition of dweeb. 🤣
